I don't buy this whole mad Louisville team theory

Sep 15, 2015, 9:50 PM

I never buy that stuff. You either are better or you are not. Granted some games can be decided by a very small margin with a play or two deciding it, but most times the better team wins and effort has little to do with it. We played hard against USC those years they won like 5 straight but they had the better team most of those.

Thursday will be no different. If we are really playoff caliber, this won't even be close. If not, then maybe so... Either way, it'll tell us a lot.

I am predicting a sound win for the boys with the PAW.

Totally agree.

Just think about how mad those Duke teams must have been all those years when they couldn't sniff a win. Or the coots when they were 0-11.
Wow. Scary!

Don't agree with you about USuCk. We lost 5 in a row because of turnovers. We played so poorly in 3 of those games that we would have lost to Wake Forest or The Citadel.

I agree with you on everything else though :)

Agreed, rather face 0-2 than 1-1 team any day***

Not sure what the past with the coots has to do with...

Sep 15, 2015, 10:06 PM

the current state of affairs with Luavull. That you should bring that up is telling... almost like the rest of the post was just an excuse to bring up that crap.

Better or worse in the past than whoever, WHO CARES. This is 2015. The last time we played the coots we spanked their azzes... and by all indications we are poised to do so again this season. Our talent and coaching are both superior to theirs at this point.

Well done.

Thank you

And the OP pretty much admitted it when he TD'd my post, but offered nothing to refute my suspicions. GOTCHA, coot!! Another one bites the dust.

mad Louisville team theory?

Sep 15, 2015, 11:29 PM

I watched the replay of the Lou v Houston game. What I saw was two evenly matched teams. Maybe the new Houston coach is the real deal? Maybe the player loses at Lou was too much? I think they will have a harder time running and throwing on us? At least I hope so. Hopefully we will get off and going early and often. Go Tigers

I don't buy....

"We played hard against USC those years they won like 5 straight but they had the better team most of those."

Ridiculous... no way the Coots were a better team in 2009, 2011 or 2013. It's telling though that all of those games were played in Columbia, and in part it was simply that the home team got on a roll. They also had a ton of breaks go their way: uncharacteristic fumbles and dropped passes by CU, and good bounces on their fumbles. To be sure, they also had a confident QB who made plays in crunch time.

But they were not "a better team" - they simply won the game that year given the +/- of how things turned out that day.

2010, with our injuries, yes they were the better team. We had no offense at all at the end of the year.

I hate "historical revisionists"....

I don't like facing a team that has already faced good competition when we have been facing cream puffs. Louisville will be playing at high speed with high intensity. We better be as well.
