Low skill wages will only increase if we stop illegal immigration. I do wish we can have everyone in the world come here and work in our farms/factories/offices and have our way of life, mainly the free life w/ generally decent material comforts (and Tiger football in fall!), but we can't. Illegal immigration suppresses wages for US citizens.

These are not equal. Slavery was wrong because it includes the wrongful capture and selling of humans into coerced labor with zero control over their lives. Illegal immigrants on the other hand have come here of their own will ILLEGALLY. They don't pay taxes or have insurance and even if they mean well and are trying to help their families they hurt the people who live here. Everyone who is not an illegal immigrant is either the descendent of legal immigrants or slaves and have a right to be upset when people abuse the system. On the other hand big corporations and crony capitalism is hurting US jobs as well. The two party system has created a problem by which issues can't be resolved when they are black and white because they only see red or blue.

You may be witnessing the end of that system right now with this meltdown of the GOP. This schoolyard yomama showdown may be funny to watch it's a scary thing to think that these are our possible leaders. Why not just have people run for President? This two party system isn't constitution based it is something that just happened, and will end us as a nation.

You did not offer any information about my question. If the father has died the case is even more tragic.
The question is: should we americans who are by nature very generous and fair (and I came here at age 13 w/o knowing english and graduated w/ 3.9 GPA in ECE at Clemson and went on to get a masters there in ECE and have had a great career and life, I know american people's generosity first hand and I try to pay it forward), should we offer compassion or should Bernie Sanders compel my compassion at something close to 70% marginal tax rates which will lead to shrinking economy?
It is so nice to just sit back and say "obviously you lack compassion (must be a conservative)"
