Any chance he retires? If I was a tarhole I would hope he retires.
He did win one natty w Texas and that’s a big deal. But his career winning percentage is 65%. Most top 25 programs, certainly all top 10 programs, fire a coach if he has a 65% winning % after a few years.
This time at UNC he is 21-17 in 3 seasons.
As a Clemson fan, I hope he stays, just like Dave D next door. I hope they both stay.
I would like for somebody to hear why UNC football is any better than Clemson basketball. I could make a case for either. I don’t see much difference. At least we don’t get embarrassed in basketball.

And a similar argument could be made that UNC seems very satisfied with him being their coach, though I can't understand why. Maybe they just are being patient with him. Maybe they really just don't care much about FB. After all, it hasn't amounted to much from a FB standpoint, ever.

Well, his record is a step above their prior few years and he created grand expectations he could do what he did in his previous tenure.

Great point. He seems to just stand on the sidelines not engaging anyone. I believe they are just using him as a figure head and for recruiting. The recruiting piece seems to be working. Him just standing there will grow old to the team. In fact from NC not wanting to be there it may have passed it’s usefulness.

Believe it or not, a Tar Heel friend of mine told me that NC fans are content with Old Mack because he wins at home. I suppose it makes the Brie and Chardonnay go down easier

like that’s going to happen. His recruiting has actually improved and he seems to enjoy what he does. Now, if he has a couple more seasons like this one, that might change his mind.

Looks like Mack n Larry Fedora had identical records in their 1st three years at UNC.
Then Larry had two good years, then two bad years, then got fired.
