Lucky catch

Oct 5, 2022, 5:46 PM

The man that caught #62 by Aaron Judge has been offered $2 million for the ball. Wow.

It could go even higher with the recent prices on balls and cards recently.

I was about to say, if $2 milllion is the opening offer, it

WILL go higher. If handled correctly, this really could be a life altering experience for this fan.

And, I will also say, the fact that the offer is that high

should tell you something about how purists of baseball consider this to be the "real, untainted" new single season home run record. To use old "Happy Days" parlance, Mark MacQuire, Sammy Sosa, and especially Barry "Pumpkin Head" Bonds can SIT ON IT.

Less than 2 mil could be life changing for me, and if I had been the one that caught the ball, they surely could have gotten it from me for less than 2 Million!!!

Glad I don’t have to make that decision to do the honorable thing and give it to Aaron Judge for a few souvenirs or sell it for millions.
I heard on the radio that the young man who caught Mark McGuire’s ball offered to give it to McGuire, asking only for a few signed souvenirs and a chance to meet McGuire in person. McGuire told him to take a hike (or much worse) and the guy ended up selling the ball for $3 mil. I guess McGuire did him a favor by being such a jerk.
