Love Clemson football but...

Jun 9, 2020, 6:52 PM

I really don’t think the people sharing their perspectives are really qualified to speak on history. They aren’t exactly the most educated on the topic even if they have the piece of paper. Spent a lot more time with the X’s & O’s than reading anything about history or the likes of Clemson’s beginnings.

Maybe spend a little time studying up rather than reacting to the media/social outcry.

Seems more like being a part of the fad than trying to be a representative for change. But, whatever. The herd will follow like the herd follows.

The term is “virtue signaling”...

and it's common amongst the "woke" crowd who want to dismantle everything because...

- wuhan, or
- racism, or
- (insert crisis du jour here)

They are like a herd of sheep. Sheep who can afford to either sit around the house for months on end, or mill around city streets all day and/or all night because they evidently have little else to do.

As for me, I stand by my school and my football coach. The world was a LOT different 155 years ago. The world has changed. Clemson has changed. Erasing history for the sake of political correctness is what fascists do. It's pretty clear to me who the REAL modern-day Nazis are. And it's pretty clear to me that a lot of people still have NO CLUE what kind of culture Dabo Swinney has brought to Clemson football, or how special it is.

Response of the year^ - this has been my only post on the issue and will probably be the only one. It’s honestly sad IMO.

I like to think I’m a progressive, but I’ve sworn off social media (minus my T-net fix) for the time being because the herd has become overwhelming. Maybe it’s for the better.

Hope you and the family are well. Stay safe in the craziness!
