Louisville fans saying Watson was bottled up even before

Oct 12, 2014, 8:12 AM

he went out and was not the difference in the game that we lost him. I have to remind everyone we did have only 8 yards of offense when he went out, but he was injured at the end of a nine yard run. I think he would have gotten in his groove and we would have probably on to have a decent offensive day. His loss is going to definitely cost us a game or more in this stretch. We don't know how rusty he will be when he returns. Sucks that for his freshman year we have only gotten two starts at the six game mark and may end up only getting three or four starts for his entire freshman year. I was thinking by the Carolina game he'd really be settled into the position, but now if he plays at all against them, he may be really rusty.

Welp, we'll never know.

Oh he would have deffinatly settled down into his groove

Oct 12, 2014, 8:20 AM

He still cant make williams catch the ball though (unless you put glue on his hands like hot hands hanin) lol

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Williams hasn't dropped any passes from Watson....

Oct 12, 2014, 8:22 AM

Williams only has 3 drops. Stop with the overreacting.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

stoudt put them on the money

Oct 12, 2014, 8:25 AM

One would have went for a td for sure

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

correct, but it's only 3 drops....

Oct 12, 2014, 9:34 AM

2 in the first game of the season, and one in the 6th game of the season. That's not enough to say Williams has issues with drops. Williams has played excellent this season.

Who cares what Louisville fans think, we beat them...

Oct 12, 2014, 8:20 AM

without our starting QB and the refs were cheating for them. Sim

Maybe we will find a RB in this stretch, get back some injured OL, injured LB, and Peake.

We have really gotten ripped apart by injuries. Will be happy to get these guys back

We have RB's, we have a terrible oline coach***

On the way out I was telling UL fans, "Great game; be safe" and one of them said to me: "If your QB hadn't gotten hurt you would've beaten us worse." I think that's true. I responded that if we had played them in Louisville they would've won. The defense and the crowd were the difference.

It is obvious that Louisville had a better defense than we gave them credit for but there were many plays that Stoudt had opportunities to make some yardage and I think Watson could have made big plays with but it really doesn't matter now. A win is a win.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Their defense is very, very good. Watson was not on his

Oct 12, 2014, 8:58 AM

"A" game because of that. We will never know what might have happened. I want to think we would have scored more points, but who knows.

Re: Their defense is very, very good. Watson was not on his

Oct 12, 2014, 9:32 AM

So, instead of Watson having Minus 9 yards of yardage, he had Munus 1 and you are confident as a result?

That's hard for a fiction writer to top.

Truth is, Stoudt was your best QB for that defense. Watson wasn't going to outrun any Louisville defenders. The traditional pocket passer wont the game for you. Watson would have coughed one up sooner or later.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

"wont the game for you", coot go worry about your team....

Oct 12, 2014, 9:38 AM

coughing up 4th qtr leads. Watson will be back for your pathetic defense and will eat you alive. By the Watson did out run some Louisville defenders. So maybe you need to go to the eye doctor on Monday.

Uh Cole did turn the ball over. Watson is a better pocket passer than Cole is.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's impossible to claim accuracy for what 'would have been,

Oct 12, 2014, 9:39 AM

but I'll say this. Eventually I believe Watson would have broken through for some big runs and that would have loosened up UL's defense. We believe what we want by faith.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpgringofhonor-clemsontiger1988-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

His numbers would've improved, but their D was very good all game

Oct 12, 2014, 10:28 AM

Hard to be sure whether there would've been much difference in the outcome.

I didn't think Watson looked very good when he was in, except for the pass to Hopper.
