Louisville 4th down "time out"

Oct 15, 2014, 7:35 AM

Has it been reported why they got so much time after spiking the ball on third down at the end?

said Hopper's catch on the sidelines was a "juggle" even though all 82k of us clearly saw an NFL worthy catch on the video board. This was one of the worst officiating crews I can remember. Ron Cherry would have been an upgrade!

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?

overturn that call; I've now watched the replay and there is no evidence there to overturn. Hopper turns his back to the camera on every view shown; it no longer becomes a question of the foot touching or not, he had time to regrip the ball after the foot touch even if you are convinced the foot touched. The official that ruled it incomplete had a view that the cameras didn't have and that official was in proper position and didn't hesitate.

Now the extra timeout...I'm still mad and confused about-- someone does need to explain

You should see the review that were on TV.

He pinned that ball to his shoulder and held it when he had both feet on the ground. As his momentum carried him out of bounds he moved the ball into the center of his body to make sure it didn't come out when he hit the ground.

He never lost control of the ball. This one is on the guys feeding replays to the booth. That's the second time in the last few weeks that the booth hasn't gotten the right angle to consider for their decision.

The ref right in front of the play was looking at the feet instead of the ball. That's why they review the play.

So you think you saw more angles at home than the officials deciding to overturn the call or not?

dude- I watched the replay of the game(I DVR'd); I was also

at the game(close down on that side) and was watching the official that ruled it incomplete. The replay does not show a Hill EZ toward midfield shot down the line. The official who ruled it incomplete was not the guy up by Hopper, it was the Side Judge who is on the line and came running up to rule it incomplete using a juggle signal. That is the only view to know if Hopper regripped or bobbled the ball after his foot touched.

There was no "juggling" per the TV replays

Only question was IF he got his right toe in bounds. I say yes but it was a tough call to reverse once made.

That was one of those calls where whatever the original call was, it was would stand. Had it been ruled a completion first, that would have stood too.

I think we might have called time out once they spiked it and stopped the clock to make sure we had the right personnel on the field and the right formation.

no TO signaled, no TO came of the board, reportedly

based on this board, Dabo was asked post-game and indicated they didn't call timeout and was told clock operator error which makes absolutely no sense---- this question needs to be addressed by the league-- it looked like an inexcusable error by the officials with the game on the line
