Lots of positions are getting thin this year and beyond

Oct 19, 2021, 10:20 PM

QB and RB are already thin, and we need to build that depth back immediately.

But, I look at the D and see problems. Counting current freshman commits, and assuming obvious players leave after their junior year, here's what the numbers are in a a season and a half from now.

DT: 5
DE: 4
LB: 6
CB: 6 (only 3 upperclassmen)
S: 7

I know recruiting isn't near over for this year, but I'd like to have more experience depth than those numbers. The cupboard desperately needs to be restocked.

I will not pretend to know any more than we are thin at qb and ive noticed guys are leaving. That said, I dont see how it coukd be tgat our coaches (who i trust) couldve failed to recruit better. ill add another element ive noticed. over the last few years ive perceived a growing number of true freshmen getting significant pt...and this over guys who were also pretty highly recruited. not sure how that plays into things
