Tony Elliot ($2 million/year) and Brent Venable ($2.5 million/year) were two of the highest paid coordinators in college football. We should be able to hand pick anyone we want for those roles, so it’s going to be exciting to see what plans Dabo has.

Also, I bet Brent and Tony both negotiate with Dabo on who they are taking with them. Dabo would let anyone go for a job he sees as a promotion, but I don’t see these guys secretly stealing people without talking it through with Dabo first. Doesn’t mean we couldn’t lose a Mike Reed, but it won’t be for a lateral position. It would be for a promotion that Dabo wasn’t ready to give him at this time.

I know that BV’a contract specifically says if he takes a head coach job that there is no buyout.

I’d guess TE’s says the same.

We should hire cheap and use the savings to buy players like Texas is doing.

Buy out is 25 percent of the remaining contract s. Up in 2025/2026 season.

Waived for BV iF HC job. No HC waiver for TE

Can be waived by the AD

AD buy-out was 150k. I imagine that let everyone walk away. Unless you take current staff with you. Do that and get dinged.
