Looks like nc st is putting the squeeze

On there basketball coach. Saying he needs to win or he's gonna be looking for another job. He has taking them to 4 nccaa births and has 1 less acc win then clemsoneight now. Brownell has taken us to 1 NCAA tourney and that was with op's players. You think d rad has privately told bb that this is it, wim or ur gone.

job. The impression is that DRad has given him assurances the last two years that his job is secure.
Only a lack of an NIT bid will cost him his job. With our remaining schedule, that shouldn't be a problem.

I don't think he is meshing with the fan base.
I've been a BB supporter but this year has irritated me so bad. He has his best team in years but just putting it all together. I get they've lost some close ones, but d@mn we got blown out by Louisville and FSU
BB's mantra for so long has been defense but this year our defense is not as good. Maybe its the new players or maybe its they just haven't bought in yet? I don't know
I think we can go on a nice little run and still make the tournament but next year without JB I wonder how well we play? We have nice pieces but can he get them to bye in?

If you've ever spent any time on an NC State board you will notice that their fans are all stuck in this 70s-80s time warp where State is still a national power in basketball on the level of UNC and Duke.

yep - those guys are idiots. they should be thankful that gottfried got them to sweet 16 twice and 4 tourneys. they are seriously stuck in a vacuum. first sendek and now this. we would be thrilled with both of those coaches track records

State picked up its first win in Cameron in over twenty years or something like that this season... that metric does not indicate "same level." It would be tough to be a fan of NC-St when your close neighbors/rivals are the best in basketball.

NC State has a basketball school mentality and they should.

Everett Case and N C State pretty much invented the ACC Tournament.
The school has two NCAA titles and multiple ACC titles to go along with players like David Thompson in their history.
On top of that, Jim Valvano who has actually grown in stature since he died is always present as a high profile representation of NC State hoops.
There is a lot of pressure to try to keep up with Duke and UNC and The Pack has fallen quite short on that effort the past 20 years or so, but the pressure is still there.
Unlike Clemson, there's no real reason why NC State cannot be absolutely stellar in basketball.

It's like in SEC football - LSU, UGA will run off good coaches as they see Alabama as the level they need.
So - BBs situation is much different than the NCState guy...
