and what it means for college football as much as anybody. It was clear to me that Elite QB play was the difference between UGA and Bama, where I thought Young was extremely impressive. Just my opinion.

I heard one of their twits award it to rattler early in the season. How did that work out. I wish I could remember who it was. That award has become something I just ignore. It has become just a silly ESECPN driven joke.

I agree. The Heisman is obviously a bias trophy for the elites. If Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence didn't win it, Clemson will probably never win it. They were generational talents.

Deshaun tended to peak at the end of the season. Heisman's are often won in the early season against the Charlottes and Western Kentuckys of college football. Watson and, to a lesser extent, Lawrence set the bar so high for themselves in the postseason that they were not able to live up to expectations in games against lesser opponents.

You have got to be kidding. Did you watch Watson take Clemson on that last drive to win the natty in 2016 or Trevor take Alabama to the woodshed in 2018? If not, you don't know much about Clemson football.

Please re-read my comment. I stated that those 2 individuals set the bar so high with their performances in the post season (i.e. Watson against Bama to almost win the title and Lawrence against Bama to win the title) that they were not able to attain that level against the weaker opponents to start the next season.

They vote well before the playoffs, so those aren't a factor. I am not sure what year Trevor deserved it more than who won it? Deshaun was ripped off due to them voting so early.

They should rename the Heisman trophy the ESPN / SEC trophy. It occasionally makes it outside the SEC. And those teams are usually OSU, OU, Texas and a select few other teams with ESPN butt all over their lips.
