some states will cause some women to get their shlt together as far as being smarter about when they can and can't get pregnant. There are only about 6 days a month that a woman can get pregnant, so why so many unwanted pregnancies? I'd urge women to know when these days are if they aren't on birth control.

it encroaches on the authority of the parents/church leaders from putting moral (I would call it Biblical) values into the students.

Heck, it would be great if the public schools taught children from a Biblical perspective, but since that won't happen (and Constitutionally, probably can't) it'd be better for them not to teach at all, than to teach something against Biblical principles.

I consider the question of whether one should or should not have sexual intercourse to be a Biblical topic. Therefore, if the school is not going to answer that question from a Biblical perspective, I do not want the school answering the question.

not for public schools being required to teach a Biblical point of view on sex. I concede that is not Constitutional.

In a dream world, of course schools would teach the Bible. But in this country, they can't, without also being able to teach equivalent values from other belief systems.

So, the solution is that the schools teach you what the body parts are, how biologically a life is formed, things that are scientific fact. No problem. Parents, with aid from the church, should answer the question to their children on whether or not they should engage in sexual behavior.

And don't give me, "That's the parents' job." If the parents were doing their job, this wouldn't be a problem. We have plenty of single parents out there who produce the kid as part of the problem.

How about we all work together to prevent unwanted pregnancies so that abortion is less necessary? Because abstinence-only and "wait til marriage" doesn't work.

Unless that education is coming from parents. It's the way God set it up, and that way works.

Sure, maybe a class in school could be effective in some cases, but the effect of that pales in comparison to what the child gets on a consistent basis at home. That's where the prevention is. The reason people don't like to hear that is because it takes the problem of abortion, or any of society's ills, and points the finger right back at us, the adults with children. I can't point at anyone else to blame for my child's well-being. It's on me, and my wife....not the President, Congress, or Supreme Court, not the public school, not a political party, not cable news, not Disney or Netflix, or anyone else.

So I think your flow of logic is tangential at best. I would not say that just because someone is a preacher, that they are an effective parent. I suspect you would agree with me on that.

I also reiterate that nothing is 100% effective, because ultimately every individual makes their own choices.

I suppose you are saying that when I said "that way works," that I meant that parental guidance is 100% guaranteed to result in 100% correct decisions by children. I did not intend to imply that.

"That way works" in the same way that my chair works. It doesn't mean that I won't ever accidentally "miss" when sitting down and fall on the floor. But if I want to sit down at my desk effectively, the chair is the way to do it.
