Looking at Oklahoma St Softball

Just looking at Oklahoma St's schedule this year and a couple of observations:

They lost to Duke, 0-4
Also lost big to LSU (2-10) and USF (1-7) both of whom had respectable seasons
Lost to UT Arlington who finished 22-27
Swept by 2 of the best - FSU and OU
Other than those two series losses, they really picked it up in the later half of the season
Won their regional by a combined score of 21-4 (12-0 in 5, 7-4, and 2-0)

Looking at our schedule similarly:

Lost to Texas, Wisconsin and Northwestern early - all good teams
Swept by Va Tech (who is hosting a super regional)
Lost series 2-1 to Duke (also in a super regional)
Lost to UGa and Louisville (1 game each)
Swept by FSU (lost 4 to them total)
Won our regional by a combined score of 18-0

In looking at those two comparisons, we both took big losses to big teams. Nothing to be ashamed of or that speaks ill of the program. Both teams really picked it up toward the end of the year. And both teams dominated their regional.

I'd say that we are pretty well matched up against OSU. Should be a great series! GO TIGERS!

Like us with Va Tech, they also repaid the Sooner sweep by taking them down in the Big 12 tournament-one of Oklahoma's 2 losses on the year. Really excited to see Clemson taking this step.
