Or he would if they had the guts to sign in with their real name. Takes a real man to hide behind a moniker and we have a lot of them. Need to get rid of those who constantly gripe, complain and pose as coaching experts. This remark was directly made to these "fans". Most never spent ten minutes in a classroom and don't even know what IPTAY really is. We have a fantastic coaching staff. Support them 110 percent!

Dawkins wind up solid contributors as well? I think Dabo grasps roster construction as well as any coach in the country, including Saban. Sure, we all love the five and four star guys. Who doesn't like the future NFL studs?
But an 85 man roster has to be more than that. You need underrated guys coming in with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove(Carter, Humphries, Branch, Renfrow, Joseph). You need high character guys happy playing a role as a back up and on special teams(Davis', Maverick Morris, Schuessler). You need developmental guys(Dodd, O'Daniel, Kelly Bryant, Gallman, Jadar Johnson, Tank).
When you have top tier talent, role players, hungry players and athletes who need time, you get a mix with leadership, character and desire.
Seems to be working pretty well

The people that complain about signing players like the Davis twins just need to quit. For one, it just shows your ignorance and two your complaining isn't going to change it. So really the ones that complain in the end just look stupid especially when they get on the field and make major contributions than some of the 4 and 5 stars they clamor over. I promise those people this, above anything else I promise Dabo knows more about recruiting and the guys he is recruiting in his little finger than any of the complaining parties do.

out that criticizing Dabo in regards to recruiting is ridiculous, stupid and ignorant. It was the emotionally encumbered that were crying about the Davis twins and calling it a waste of two scholarships. Now just a couple years later they are both making contributions towards what may prove to be another national championship run.

what do you expect? any coachs son that gets signed (from the davis boys to greenlee to bentley to kj henry) opens himself up to criticism whether warranted or not
theres no denying the amount of familial ties with the program. silly to suggest otherwise

I didn't see the Monday press update. It must of touched a sore point, and rightly so. Seems to me 11 tackles against a good Hokies team is ample proof to shut even the ignorant up, even media who would even raise the question. Remember the heyday of Clem......? Palleaase.

I was a lurker back then and I remember all the weeping and gnashing of teeth going on tigernet about this. I don't have to do this because I am a relatively new member and as such I do not have a post history to confirm this but I am man enought to admit I was wrong about the Davis twins. Thank you Dabo for enlightening all of us. You know what you are doing and I will not question a single offer you make. Thanks for being our national championship coach and even more than that thank you for being the man you are. My crow tastes good. The rest of you should get some too

I also have to add to this and say that I would've never publicly put down the Davis twins. That's disrespectful to them and their family but I did question the motive for the scholarship and whether or not they were the caliber of athlete we needed. Like I said, I love that my opinion was wrong. Even at that point in Dabo's career (we were already really good back then) I still felt like he had earned the right to do what he wanted without being bashed for it but I felt like those schollies put us at a handicap against the nation's elite. A couple of ACC championships and a national championship later I'm glad to be wrong.

Well really just the opposite with the Davis twins ... Bentley was held back a year so that he would be more mature when he got to be a senior in high school. The Davis twins started school early, so they really should have been in high school their first year at Clemson!

These ######### won't stop being wrong and they won't admit it. Had we listened to them, both Terry Don Phillips and Dabo would have been fired and we would be winning 7-8 games a year. The complainers are just eunuchs, dickless little #######. Keep on keeping on Dabo.
