#1-2 make sense #3 didn’t know Chris Rock was from SC #4-10 is a joke. I’m assuming author doesn’t know any business owners or football coaches. Or how to do math at #4

about 25 years ago in a spare room in his house. Sold it 2 years ago for 50 million. I don't see him on there. There are at least 6 people on my street that would be in the top 10 on this list, probably 30-40 in the neighborhood.

Dabo, Brownell, Beamer and Staley I know have more money than the $1M net worth that qualified as #10 on that list

I was going to say Ronald Motley, but I saw he has been dead for a bit. He was probably worth a couple hundred million or close.

My dad worked with, and then later for, Jerry Zucker for about 35 years. I've mentioned before that I worked on houses on Folly beach during the summers, and those were all Jerry's houses he owned and rented out. I also worked at Intertech during the summers in my Sr year in high school and 1 or 2 during college. Jerry and Anita were both at my Dad's funeral, and although we weren't Jewish, Jerry threw the first bit of dirt on my dads grave, because as he told me at the time, "this is what we in the Jewish faith do to people we honor and respect."
If you didn't already know their wealth, you'd never know it after meeting them. Jerry was never a showman, and always very humble with his wealth. Jerry was a billionaire before have a "b" in front of -illionaire was cool, and was truly a self made man. He sold a type of radar like locating device to as a patent to Nasa while he was still in college. He bought a building near UF that he started renting out to other college students before he had graduated, and that's how he started.
He also made it a stipulation that all his kids, including Jonathan, (President of Intertech now) all worked somewhere else for (at least) 5 years after graduating college before coming to work for the family business. He spent his final years establishing education trusts and always believed education was the most important thing anyone could ever have. His name is all over several schools in Charleston, MUSC endowments, and there are numerous humanitarian awards named after him. At one time, he was a majority owner of the SC Stingrays, the minor league hockey team in SC just because he thought it would be fun to have a hockey team in SC. Jerry passed away from a brain tumor in 2008.
Jerry (and now Anita and the rest of their family) are the kind of people who should be rich, because they are the quality of people who really deserve it, and will do something worthwhile with the money.
