So, takeaway the propaganda spewed by leftwing MSM and social media which has only come into play the last several years and what do you get?

Well, it's fascinating you mention that.
No matter what Trump did - ever! - his popularity barely twitched, staying at right around a flat 45% or so and then crawling down to right around 42% by the end, and the reason why seems to be, people seem to have retreated into their various media bubbles, and they ain't budgin'.
Period. This suggests that 54% Biden's carrying might be about equally stable, and since it's demographically related, it might actually tick up a point or so a year...since by the demos the Dems are gaining right at a point a year.
This is kind of why doing the pure demographics thing is so stupid for your "side" and refusing to go back to equal-time laws and debate the actual issues again, but since you insist, have it your way....

Yeah, people liked Carter. For a minute. He was a really, really genuinely nice human being. About as far away from being Mean And Nasty Nixon as you could get.
Then the Iranians grabbed some hostages in an American embassy and paraded them around for a year.
Then gas lines as OPEC decided to butt-rape the West and turn off the gas spigot.
And our military...lordy. They tried to rescue those hostages, at one point. Didn't even make it to Tehran. The helicopters got tangled up, ended up crashing in the desert. Our troop morale was so low after Vietnam, apparently our officer corps was afraid to even enter the enlisted barracks unarmed.
American was not in real good shape, at the end of Carter's term. What was his closing approval rating? Low 30's? I remember it being bad.

Crazy the lowest approval rating got the most votes ever by a Republican candidate. Show me more worthless numbers.

Eisenhauer was pretty much Bernie Sanders, so you can color that one blue also.
