If he "wins", we don't make the Sweet 16, our program is without a coach, and he gets payment in the form of a membership that he doesn't value enough to buy for himself.
If he loses, he still don't make the Sweet 16 but keep the coach he obviously doesn't like, and he has to pay for a membership he personally sees no value in for somebody else.
I am actually hoping that the bet is invalidated altogether by us making the sweet 16 (and keeping our coach). Y'all are both sort of betting that we won't win two games.

Let's just say, the word around the watercooler is, if we lose to Rutgers (freakin Rutgers!), then time has (OBVIOUSLY) run out.

Fans of a team are supposed to be excited. They are supposed to be supportive. They are supposed to give their team the benefit of the doubt.

Clemson (7) NET 41, 3-6 Q1, 7-0 Q2, 1 loss Q3-4
Georgia Tech (9) NET 34, 3-6 Q1, 6-0 Q2, 2 losses Q3-4, Conference Champ, blowout win H2H and buzzer beater bank shot loss
We are seeded 7 spots ahead of GT in the bracket.

This isn't the College Football Playoff. Conference tournament championships get you an automatic bid, but they don't promise to boost your resume any more than the wins you earned to get the title. Georgia Tech's conference championship consists of wins over Miami (doesn't help...can only hurt, as we learned) and Florida State (good win). And head-to-head does not matter.
If you want to look at bad losses, you're talking about a Clemson team whose only Q3 loss came on a neutral floor in a conference tournament. Alternatively, Georgia Tech's TWO Q3 losses came on their home floor to Georgia State and Mercer.
The committee has shown they will HEAVILY penalize Q3 and Q4 losses. There are exactly zero at-large teams in the field who have a Q4 loss. If you need to see the damage a Q3 loss does to your seed, compared to where the NET system places a team, just take a look at teams like Virginia (NET 12) and Colorado (NET 15). Each dropped a full seed from a net-projected spot, presumably due to terrible Q3 losses.
Wrapping up Georgia Tech, you have to look at them having six wins against the tournament field (four at home, one neutral, one away, none out of conference) versus Clemson having seven wins against the field (five at home, two neutral, three out of conference).
LSU is the team to utilize for your best argument, in my opinion. However, I still don't think you CLEARLY see a team deserving of a higher seed than Clemson. 10 wins against Q1 and Q2 for Clemson versus eight such wins for LSU makes it look closer than LSU having four wins against the field (two at home, one neutral, one away, none out of conference) to Clemson's seven (five at home, two neutral, three out of conference). Their NET is pretty strong, but we've seen over the last few years that NET has been used that the rating doesn't matter as much as the schedule.
Bottom line...Clemson got rewarded for doing things that neither LSU and Georgia Tech did, which was beating tournament teams out of conference. Clemson did that three times. LSU and Georgia Tech COMBINED for zero such wins. It also happens that two of the teams Clemson beat out of conference ON A NEUTRAL FLOOR were a 2-seed (Alabama) and a 4-seed (Purdue). Those two wins alone are better than ANY win on Georgia Tech's schedule and better than any win other than maybe a home victory against Arkansas on LSU's schedule.

I agree that Coach is here to stay for at least another year. Firing coaches from the cash cow that is football is one thing...Basketball at CU is a complete different matter. Between Covid, Buyouts etc, one and done has back, Sweet 16 and he would get an extension.

who knows nothing about basketball. BB is going nowhere. Clemson does not fire coaches that make the NCAA Tournament and average 18 wins a year.

I can PROMISE u that if we go one and done, Brownell will still be the head coach of Clemson basketball next season. He isnt going anywhere. Recruiting is really improving, he really knows and understands how to work the transfer portal, and he does it the right way. He would take 2 maybe 3 losing seasons and tourney misses for him to be let go. WHY ARE U EVEN POSTING THIS BEFORE WE PLAY THE 1ST GAME OF THE TOURNAMENT??!??! SUPPORT YOUR TEAM!!
