There is no identity crisis. We are not USC and we are not Carolina....anymore than you are CU (could be many schools) nor the Tigers ( could be many schools) we are South Carolina.....we are the Gamecocks and there is no identity crisis there. The tigers are everywhere but the is only one recognizable Gamecocks.

I live in the western side of SEC country, and you're right that people around here think of South Carolina with they hear gamecocks. But, they also shake their heads and groan over a sister SEC school that proudly calls themselves #####.

you mean your two baseball titles two and three years ago...last year you lost. Basketball title ? This season one of our worst teams in a decade dispatched yall with ease at your house..im certain yall arent gonna beat us again in hoops for a while. Football you are certainly having a nice run...but all good things come to ends. I guess being a middle of the pack SEC team is your destiny..and that includes when you win 10 and 11 games. Nice ACC championship banner though...we have 14 .

Baseball titles don't even get close to translating to football titles..good lord, only gamecock fans.
Very few people actually know who won the last college baseball title. Yet y'all treat it like a football title. Only gamecock fans. Puts y'all's athletic program up with the mighties of Oregon State and Fresno State.

Probably not but I guarantee you those titles mean much more to high school and college kids than a title won 30+ years ago.
I would love to win a title in football but being a baseball fan I am very happy with our two titles in the last 3 years.
Hey, you have a football title and you should be proud. Not an easy feat in any sport and those that win it should be proud.

Football and baseball are very important in the SEC and garner a lot of fan support. From what I gather, basketball and women's soccer are beloved in ACC country. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
