How about this rule?

Feb 14, 2014, 1:02 PM

When play is stopped for an injured player, that player is not allowed to return to the field until the next series. The next series being defined as, when the ball changes hands

I would love to see this one!***

if you're so hurt you need time to recover

Faking injuries was a defenses first solution to the HUNH

Feb 14, 2014, 1:11 PM

offense...the new rule proposed is a more permanent, less humiliating means of delaying the HUNH. Implementing your proposed rule won't help those out that are crying...they'll just be losing players for an entire series...

They may claim the rule is about player safety, and with your rule, it would definitely be in the 'injured' players best interest...I would be willing to bet those suggesting this new rule would not, suspiciously, agree to your new rule however...then you'd see where their true intent really lies...

We saw players fake last season

Feb 14, 2014, 1:33 PM

And were back on field three plays later.... So yea it'll help

It will help US and anyone who suffers from other teams

Feb 14, 2014, 1:37 PM

faking injuries yes...but it WILL NOT help the ones that are complaining right now. Your rule would shoot them in the foot further. You'd basically be taking away their ability to stall the game. If your rule was implemented, Saban would probably #### a brick...

That's the point***

Quite frankly, if everything stays the same right now, I

Feb 14, 2014, 1:48 PM

would be happy. I see it as two ends of the spectrum, those that support the HUNH offense and don't like those that fake injures and those that do not support the HUNH and want 10 seconds to substitute.

< Pro HUNH----------|----------Anti HUNH >

I'm some where here^

Let them continue faking an injury or two...they look like losers with no solution to the situation. Like a boxer throwing a low blow or something...they have no true sportsmanship.

The NCAA can't implement this rule

Feb 14, 2014, 1:13 PM

because it will discourage kids from telling the coaches/trainers that they are hurt.

In an era where safety is a major concern the NCAA can't push something like this.

A player may do that regardless...many of them overtly wave

Feb 14, 2014, 1:16 PM

off the coaches when they are clearly not 100%. If the training staff has to be dispatched...that player should be considered to have suffered a potential injury.

LoL.

If a player is truly hurt, he won't be able to hide.

I was waiting for this one.

Feb 14, 2014, 1:19 PM [ in reply to The NCAA can't implement this rule ]

If the "injury" is able to be covered up by not telling someone, it's not worth stoping the game.

Feb 14, 2014, 1:51 PM [ in reply to The NCAA can't implement this rule ]

BS!!! it's about safety...that's for the players! they wouldn't hide a REAL injury just to play & get hurt worse...don't be stupid, stupid! ;)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree, leaving this rule to run it course...

Feb 14, 2014, 3:19 PM [ in reply to The NCAA can't implement this rule ]

would have caused Clowney to have to sit for the next two decades. That wouldn't have been fair at all.
