I was wrong about the Gator job.

Nov 26, 2021, 6:37 AM

More and more folks are saying that they expect Napier to be hired by UF with the announcement Sunday or Monday. Pat Dooley, long time Gainesville resident who has followed the gators (radio, author, blogger, etc.) has joined the crowd. He made a statement saying it was "all but a done deal."

I guessed they would choose Kiffin. But, Scott Stricklin didn't ask my opinion. I thought, and still think, he was the most logical choice. But, I thought McElwain was going to do a great job. I thought Mullen was going to do a great job. (I wanted them to hire Scott so we could hire Mullen when we hired Taggart.) So, what do I know?

If it's not Napier, every UF, Louisiana and LSU fan will be shocked. At least the ones who post on message boards.

Once again, when it comes to the carousel, it appears I was wrong.

Have you heard anything about Kiffin to Miami?

Just speculation. They have to officially fire Diaz first.

Why would Kiffin go to Miami?

Nov 26, 2021, 8:55 AM [ in reply to Re: I was wrong about the Gator job. ]

Ole Miss is a better job and he has the program ascending. Miami is a crap job. Yes, a talent rich area but that job these days is a step down from Ole Miss.

I think he still has his house down there from the FIU job. Not saying he would go just for that

Good point. And he probably appreciates the overall lifestyle down there as well.l compared to Oxford.

Respectfully disagree. Ole Miss has to sustain success against LSU, Bama, Auburn and soon to possibly include OU and UT and that’s only in their division. At Miami who does he have to sustain success against? Pitt, UNC, LOL. Clear path to the playoffs if he can get past us.

LSU people think Lincoln Riley is coming to Baton Rouge.

Dear bretfsu®,

Like many other Clemson fans, I'd love to see Kiffin leave Ole Miss. Don't care where he goes.

Reason? 2022 WR prospect Antonio Williams may have Ole Miss in the lead. If Kiffin Bolts to a new team (with apologies for plagiarizing the clever name that you FSU guys gave to Jimbolt Fisher), then Clemson is probably in the best shape to land A.Williams.

Feel like this would've been something huge at the time if it did occur

Not saying it's true, but I've heard this before and it occasionally resurfaces.
