Nov 30, 2012, 2:57 PM [ in reply to is Milton Jennings our stephen garcia?*** ]

his last suspension was his only brush with the law

the first 2 were due to attitude issues, not right, but different than destruction of property, etc...

We are trying to prove we are SEC worthy and hopefully get

if he is he is a pretty mild version of Garcia. That guy started with criminal justice issues

Garcia won a few games for the team.***

not even close - listen to Brownell's comments carefully ...

Nov 30, 2012, 3:01 PM [ in reply to is Milton Jennings our stephen garcia?*** ]

Milt would have not had the first two suspensions at practically any other D1 program in the country. I like that Brownell is a "tough love" guy but be clear - our players are held to a higher standard.

Nov 30, 2012, 4:36 PM

Higher standard???
I like brownell and believe in what he's doing on the court, but I bet he considered how many wins it would cost him to kick Jennings off of the team.
The higher standard is to do the right thing regardless of the consequences.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Your new coach would have swept this under rug...

Nov 30, 2012, 4:58 PM

?..you have no room to talk coot.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

Um, considering your coach has admitted to illegally paying

Nov 30, 2012, 6:36 PM [ in reply to Re: not even close - listen to Brownell's comments carefully ... ]

College athletes and left KSU in a huff when they tried to reign him in, you might want to #### ...

And yes, higher standard - Not many coaches are going to suspend a starter from two conference games for yelling an academic advisement employee. Certainly not a slimeball like Frank Martin who learned at the foot of the one of the most corrupt coaches in the history of the game. Mark it down - USuC on major basketball probation (lack of institutional control) by 2015. It is a lock. KSU will probably escape serious sanctions for reigning him in / running him off to a lesser job.

My coach is Brownell

Dec 2, 2012, 12:25 AM

but it doesn't mean that I'm going to agree with every decision that he makes. Obviously, Brownell has all the details and knows Milt's situation better than anyone else. I'll support the Brownell and even Jennings, but Im worried about the precedent that it sets and how Jennings attitude will affect the team

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hardly

Dec 1, 2012, 3:06 PM [ in reply to is Milton Jennings our stephen garcia?*** ]

He's not vandalizing professors property. He's a little mouthy and obviously likes to smoke weed......

I think most college kids indulge in the latter at some point, nowdays

We do Chicken right...it's not just for frying anymore!

For all of you "3 strikes and you are out" folks,

Nov 30, 2012, 2:58 PM

Here are Brownell's comments:

http://www.orangeandwhite.com/videos/detail/jennings-still-with-team-missing-usc-game/

He pretty much concedes that there would not have been a strike 1 or a strike 2 at most any other program. I have had the opportunity to personally get to know Milt and four or so other players on the team. I really like these kids ... And their coach. As far as citizenship, academics, etc., etc., it is a much better situation than Clemson basketball of, say, the Cliff Ellis era.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

disappointing.

basketball, if not football. Maybe not.

We can still beat USuC: Clemson - Milt > Elon***

Re: Basketball Update: Jennings still suspended, will be back for Arizona

Nov 30, 2012, 4:09 PM

I expected and believe a suspension through the end of 2012 would have been appropriate. If you have watched our games, Milt has been a vocal team leader for the underclassmen and deserved another opportunity. Only one violation involved law enforcement and by all accounts, he was cooperative with them. IMO any other violation of team rules should result in his dismissal.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

hopefully we don't lose to USC because of this***
