Let's hope some of this football recruiting success spils over to...

Basketball over the summer and early fall now that Coach Brownell has his higher saleried staff in place. Certainly hasn't spilled over to the transfer portal this spring. The few candidates still left except for Kerwin Walton look like they are not considering Clemson from what I reported last time. Walton would fill a need with only one transfer so far-- an average Galloway unless he is really healthy now and going to be mostly better than what he showed at BC last season.
A lot of wishing and hoping from the Brownell fans I see... I expect some 4 star recruits to commit soon. What do you say, Judge?

Can I nominate this as the umpteenth defensive post by you about CBB...
You like to defend the basketball program all the time. Please give us some basketball discussion on how good the team will be next season? Strengths and weaknesses? Things like that?
How about rate CBB as a coach? I've seen about three ACC coaching rankings in the off season. And Brad has finished about same on the list on all of them. Interesting that all bottom 4 are are on coaching hot seat:

program. Why is that?
Because like most Clemson fans realize Brad is on his final hour next season, unless he has a great season.
So what players in the portal are they bringing in besides, Galloway? If it is no more, is that because of they needed more time to build relationships too? Regarding that comment, hasn't Brad, Coach Bender and the other staff member developed relationships with this up coming season's recruits as well?

Who is Sam Graham? Well it seems he is a college sophomore at the University of Lynchburg.
University of Lynchburg '24. Commenting mainly on Wake Forest/ACC sports. Advocate of G5 and Mid-Major programs
So some 19 year old rates the coaches and has CBB 10th and we are suppose to discuss his ranking?
Also do you not understand how investing in the program works in terms of results? We don't even have the new coaches for one recruiting cycle yet they are suppose to change the world by this fall?
Are you a classmate of Sam at the U of Lynchburg (who are the Dragons BTW with an enrollment less than Anderson University or Dorman HS).

Recruiting is about relationships, so don't expect instant recruiting success. I am sure our coaches are working hard on the recruiting trail and will see their efforts pay off.
Dillon Hunter is the best addition we've made this offseason. He is a 4 star, ranked 64th in the ESPN Top 100, who switched his commitment from Baylor to us. You can say all that you want to about him not being an instant impact player, but he's the best recruit we've landed since P.J. Hall.
Not surprisingly, very few people here - including you - gave our staff much credit for getting a recruit of Dillon's caliber.

Lol. Already an excuse.
Hunter has potential but is overall 247 across the different ratings is about 150.
Baylor dropped his LOI because he had a very subpar senior season.

All the Basketball Recruiting Insiders know it. Paul Strelow from tigerillustrated.com was on wccpfm the next day after he commited and said he was a bit of a project after not performing well the last part of his before senior season summer circuit, and senior season. Baylor is preseason consensus top 10 with two really good guards back, and a JC freshman guard that thry like a lot. They wanted him more than Hunter and as soon as both decided to withdraw letter thry grabbed him quickly. Hunter wanted to play with his brother and the backcourt was not near as crowded especially after losing Llewelyn from Princeton. I am not convinced Dillion will play all that much at Clemson, but at Baylor he would have only gotten minutes at scrub time or been redshirted. Check these links out:

Let's see if you keep up with college basketball nationally on a year to year basis? Who has better personal at the guard positions coming back and coming in for next season, Baylor or Clemson?

My bad. I rephrased that wrong. It was mutal agreement. Baylor said hey, might want to go somewhere you can get more minutes. Dillion agreed and wanted to go closer to home with his brother.

So you tell me how he ended up at Clemson and not Baylor, when he had already signed a letter of intent to Baylor?

Go watch this interview from Brad himself at the 1.20 mark. He says Dillion needs to work on his shooting some. It came out that Dillion only averaged about 4 pts and a little over 2 assists a game. He shot like around 30 percent from the field. Yeah, he only played in about 12 games, and Sunrise Christian his school is loaded with Div 1 talent. 6 or 7 of their guys got high end d-1 offers. Now is he a good prospect? Yes, but he is not going to come in and be Chris Paul or anything close to that next season. Baylor had no problem letting his LOI go when Dillion wanted to go to a less talented competitive school closer to home. He was a not a huge loss. Now, Llewellyn from Princeton for Clemson was, and they never brought in a closely top 10 PG/lead guard from the portal to make up for that loss...

I have high hopes for Galloway. He was anything but average the last time he played in Littlejohn.

yes, he played well at that game. But go look at this games following that. He did play well in the last week and then 3 games in the ACCT, but his shooting numbers were pretty bad. If he is healthy now, like he and others claim he might be very good. Still a question mark.
If Clemson can somehow get Walton from UNC he is a better overall shooter. That will be tough because Texas Tech, Memphis and also Oklahoma are also trying to get him.

Yes, 3 of those guys are walk-ons.
They have 1 more spot for a scholarship player they can take. Looks like from what I have seen it is going to be Kerwin Walton from UNC or bust. All the other top portal transfers still available have not mentioned Clemson as a possible destination. Now, there could be a mid major guy not rated high who still might be considering Clemson but don't know who that might be.
Pete Nance (Larry's son) looks like is going to either UNC or Michigan.

It all makes sense. Nctigs is Sam Graham. Both are from NC and neither has ever set foot on the Clemson campus. He has different screen for each ACC basketball team site and trolls the message boards hating on the school and HC. Seems there is a lot of anger as none of the ACC schools accepted him to their school

Just get rid of the Basketball program and put the money into Baseball, Softball and Soccer. Apparently Basketball can't win unless you put millions more into the program. Put that money into programs who have been successful.
