No surprise, the Coots are turning on Bummer Ball..

Heupel was in my group of 3 (along with Napier and Coastal's Jamie Chadwell) to replace Muschamp. For whatever reason, Battleship Texas did not like him and said he'd be a bad hire. I believe he is a good coach and will make UT a force again.
Just does not make sense!! Proven D1 coaches were available and we took a unproven, never even been a coordinator. Hope I’m proven wrong!! Right now not looking good!!

Maybe they'll go for an experienced loser instead of an inexperienced loser.
Geoff Collins and Scott Frost come to mind ... both of whom are better coaches than Baby Beamer.

The sad thing is a majority of fans aren’t turning on Beamer. They’re completely content with being a womens basketball school.

The sad thing is a majority of fans aren’t turning on Beamer. They’re completely content with being a womens basketball school.
Many Clemson fans wanted Dabo fired after his first full year. Fans are fickle but the AD needs to be patient as no one knows what you have in a coach for at least 3-4 years. I actually think Beamer was a good choice (liked Elliott better) vs choosing a guy who had failed at every other stop but had name recognition.

Which Clemson fans wanted Dabo fired after going 9-4 and winning the Atlantic division in his first full year as head coach?
I believe you are referring to his second full season in 2010 when Clemson went 6-7 and lost the bowl game.
Further, Dabo WOULD have been fired after 2011 with a repeat effort.
He saved his job by adding 4 future NFL WRs (to add to the sophomore who was already there) in the 2011 signing class and bringing in a new offensive coordinator who could use them.

Dabo was a once in a lifetime coach, and came at a time when recruiting was the most important part of having a program. Then Dabo showed not only could he recruit but he could hire assistant coaches.
The game has changed since that Dabo hire. We tried to hire a coach based on what was successful in 2009 versus what is needed in 2021.

Great posts - sucks you guys are struggling - I think your guy is very fake from only briefly watching him from afar - but who knows - maybe he's sincere and will get it turned around.

as much as they deride him, uof7c rolled the dice on Baby Beamer in a sad, pathetic, weak and desperate attempt to find the next Dabo, and that just ain't gonna happen for them because the Capons are perennial doormats. They have always been bottom feeders and they will always be the lowest common denominator.

fiveheaded imitation of Dabo. And, they should realize, the jury is out for at least a couple more years. Get all your own recruits in there, with a year or two experience under their belts, and then see where you really are as a program. Too many schools have forgotten this approach. Everything is "I, ME, NOW!"

Maybe the coots are getting paid to ruin coaching careers, I guess being great and having purpose is all perspective.
I’m kidding, if they stick with Beamer a few more years he will make them better & he really cares about his players. He’s a better coach than coach boom because he actually believes he will win.
Boomer was the best at losing I’ve ever seen, he made a lot of money in Columbia. He had building the team up against nobody’s and making great excuses for a lot of loses.
I almost feel sorry for Beamer, could you imagine the fun he’s going have in Columbia after losing again & again. It isn’t getting easier either.

They're likely going to lose two of their next three and possibly all three (Kentucky, A&M and Mizzou).
They'll beat Vandy because...well...it's Vandy. After that, they're looking at another three game losing streak (Florida, Tennessee and Clemson), to close-out the season with a 4-8 or 5-7 record.

You say proven D1 coaches were available but is that true? Coaches on the rise will not risk their career as Coot U because success is unlikely. Why take the risk of destroying a promising career? This is why they start with a big list of promising candidates but end up with a retread or near retirement guy looking to pad their retirement savings or an unknown willing to take a chance to jumpstart their careers.
Where they missed the boat is when they did not give Shawn Elliott a chance. Coot fans would have hated the hire as they favor style over substance which is part of the problem.
