Do not take the cover off of the Rock pre-game. Tell the team that today and they can touch after they win. The team loses together, the team wins together. That should get all the players focus. Think I am being too mean. Come up with a better idea or suggestion and not a lot of platitudes.

after the game or would they go to the locker room, then out to board the buses, ride around to the East side the stadium, and then run down after the game? Or maybe just touch it and get back on the buses and ride back to the West End Zone?

Yea. I guess taking our ball and going home is a better approach. Punitive actions very rarely are effective in gaining focus or morale. How do you know we don’t have their attention? Half the people on here say it’s the coaches fault not the players. If you want to change the tradition then find a way to improve it and get the players more excited and focused (good luck), not by punishing them and withholding something. These players aren’t Pavlov’s dogs.

They have to run up the hill, around the stadium to the West End Zone, and get the buses ready for the players to ride around in.

1st 3 drives, let each QB have a shot at playing; if you drive the team to score (even a FG), you stay in for the next drive. If you fail, 3 and out or stopped drive, the next QB in line goes in. Repeat for a couple of quarters and we will see who gives us the best chance to win (in a Game environment)

To rhett and keller, the idea is to focus the team, not to vent you spite. I did not do this to have someone blamed but to get the team on the same page. If you folks do not see this as the main need of focus, then you are off in wundercuckoo land. I really wonder if any of you have been down in the trenches or even played organized football at a high school or higher level.

I’ve agreed with several of your posts recently Mr. big, just don’t with this one. I did play high school football and basketball and had an opportunity to play college basketball but decided it wasn’t going to provide a living and went in a different direction. That direction put me in a position to manage operations with 250-300 people involved. I did learn a little about motivation over the years. I just think there are better ways to motivate people and honestly the direction the rest of the post took bothered me even more. I know (or at least want to believe) that the posts about shooting the OC were meant in jest but the fact this string even went in that direction is disappointing and I don’t want to say anything that stirs that pot any more. I just reacted because it started with your post. There may end up being coaching or personnel changes before this gets better, that is not my decision to make, but the tradition of running down the hill as is is not up for discussion in my opinion. It is one of the things that brings players to Clemson in the first place and I just don’t think changing that will contribute to a long term solution.

Mental attitude ! Change it. I see nothing wrong with our coaches or players. Follow all coaches' advice, after they suffer defeat: "THIS LOSS WILL HELP US GET BETTER." We are doing a fairly good job. Let's lose all games the rest of the season. Losses help us improve. At the end of this season, we may be the best team in the nation.
