Do Tre and Shaq become backups early on

Apr 14, 2016, 3:31 PM

They both really impressed me at the spring game. Those boys are huge and so dang skilled. I think Jalen is back up now behind Kendall but I can see Tre taking over. Idk who is backup behind Ben I would go ahead and say Shaq already possibly. The Davis twins really looked good and Chad is a beast but I see the Freshman moving ahead.

LB is a tough position for a freshman

You asked the right question re backups vs starters. Boulware will obviously log the most snaps, but if he's struggling physically like he did last year, he won't have to play when he shouldn't. There were times last season when he couldn't lift his arm above his shoulder and he was taking on future NFL guys.

What both freshmen need this season is to watch, learn, and get on the field in some challenging situations. All those things will happen, but early in the year, we'll see the starters logging more snaps than we think appropriate. We will be complaining in ALL CAPS.

Especially in BVs system it isn't easy. Hopefully we can blow out Auburn to get them so reps against quality

Especially in BVs system it isn't easy. Hopefully we can blow out Auburn to get them so reps against quality players! I'm sure they will get theirs against Troy and SC state and then be set for the season.

Jalen moved to Sam and backs up

Odaniel.

I suspect Chad Smith and Lamar battle for time behind Joseph but lets all be honest, the LONG term answer here will be Lamar.....

I also suspect the Davis twins are making more noise than expected......
