This guy was listening to Colin Cowherd who said the B1G may be preparing to offer UO and UW 1/2 a revenue share to join up.

I’m sure another company would be happy to fill Nikes shoes.

Maybe you're right ...

But Adidas has 1/7 the market cap of Nike. A lot less money to float around.

True, but they can make a lot more if Nike just blindly decides to pull out of a major conference. He’s smarter than that no matter how much he loves Oregon.

Oregon will be fine either way. They’ll find a landing spot.

They could make $40M in the ACC

Mar 5, 2023, 8:21 PM

Not that they have a lot of choices if the four corner schools go to the BIG 12 but a half share wouldn't sit right with me. They could receive $40M in the ACC. I HATE the idea of them being in the ACC (that is if we are still in the ACC), but at least you are a full member.

Half share for the long term, or just intro like

Maryland and Rutgers did? No way they go to be a little sister in a league on a permanent basis. Not worth the extra little bit of money while exploding their budgets.

I am not really onboard with reduced revenue shares. Seems like a way of creating tension between schools. Its possible, no network is on board with the paying $80-$100 million each for Washington and Oregon. The schools understand this and will take a reduced share which will slowly grow until the eqrn a full share. USC and UCLA were the only additions that will receive full revenue from the beginning. Nebraska and Md, and probably any school in the future, will receive partial revenue for a period of time. Previous Commissioner, Kevin Warren, stated this is because schools are not given full ownership of the Big Ten Network right off the bat. It has to be earned/bought over a period of time.

I wonder if Clemson would have to wait also to get a full share if we go to the BiG?
