You said it, "we match up so much better against them"! Too many of our fellow TNET posters don't understand that. In boxing, they say, "styles make fights"! Well, NC States' style is in our wheelhouse. Wake's offense in particular - much like a service academy running the option - is hard to impossible to simulate in practice!
I might even say; "it's harder to simulate Wake's offense than it is to simulate the option"! Why? Because people have maybe coached against the option before or coached the option before - Wake is about the only team that runs that offense though! So, little to no chance to get it covered in terms of adjustments. Wake did a good job of pushing their mesh point back in anticipation of Clemson being able to push it back anyway. Again, something you can't anticipate exactly.
I think people are going to see a dominant defense Saturday!

Very astute to notice that Wake's "mesh" blocking scheme was to back up (absorb the blow) this year instead of (attempting) to stand firm and then getting beat by our superb D-Line personnel.
Like everyone else, I was watching this but didn't put it together that Wake's OL being 'pushed back' was actually part of synchronized and purposeful OL tactic.
(Wake's OL 'talent' at holding also helped them a bunch vs. our DL.)

Unfortunately, our bye week is Oct. 29, and NC State's bye week is Oct. 22.
There is no make-up date that can be made to happen if the game this Saturday is not played.

I watched the press conference and he was only responding to a question from the reporter. In no way was he making an excuse about anything. I’m fact you could tell he was ready to get playing but also was very complementary to the Tigers and the coaches. Stop making something out of nothing.
