I made a post at half time if this was a move we as a fan base wanted to make. I will own up to it. Love the BCS win but I am still not sure if a 8 year deal is the right play yet.

Look, I am a big Dabo fan. I've been a Dabo fan since he was an interim coach. I still don't think he should be getting an 8 year contract. I don't care if he wins the NC. He should be making awesome money, have a pretty large buyout, and like now, have an incentive laden contract. An 8 year contract just seems like a little much, I don't care if it is Nick Saban.

I,too, an a Dabo fan, and even I think 8 is too much. IMO a coach should have a 5 year contract that renews, based on certain criteria, and is laden with incentives for success. 8 years was not a good business decision, IMO, but I choose be happy. I don't fear this as much with Dabo as I would have with TB.

You still dont give the guy 8 years...thats stupid. Hes lost 5 straight to the coots and we dont know how hes gonna do when morris leaves and morris will leave sooner rather than later. All I know about dabo is he recruits well and has hired good assistant coaches. Hes not an x and o guy and thats a big concern.

You say he's not an X and O's guy? Please elaborate on why you feel this way. I keep hearing people say this but no explanation as to why they believe this to be the case. I'm sure you wouldn't just say it because you heard someone else say it. I'll hang up and take your answer off the air. Thanks.

Great win ! The program is headed in the right direction . However, the five game losing streak against Scar is a concern. Of course give Dabo an extension of 5 years with an incentive laden contract. Start beating Scar on a regular basis and he gets a big raise.

He needs to start beating SCarolina but I'm thrilled with the extension. I doubt that Bama would buy him now to get him there.

I think Dabo has done a great job, especially for the past two years. I have no problem with extending a coach's contract for 3-4 years every time it's about to expire (that does help recruiting), but I'm not sure any coach in the nation is ever worth an 8 year contract in any sport! That's a pretty big gamble, because things can go south rather quickly sometimes. BTW, which other NCAA coaches have an 8 year contract? I honestly don't know.
