Overall, defense was pretty solid tonight.

lol.... there was a former coach who once was renowned

for his defensive style and his innovations but he always seemed to lose the big one.

In particular his defensive pressure was noted to cause lots of turnovers

but also to leave players open for jumpers because it was a "scramble style" of defense.

Notably his team lost a National semifinal game when the opponents star set the Final Four scoring record of 38.

He also once lost an Sweet 16 game because his defense kept giving Bob Knight's Indiana team open jumpers

and they kept burying them. It was Michael Jordan's last collegiate game, and he lost.

The coach was Dean Smith, and he lost 6 Final Fours before winning a Natty.

You Clemson basketball "fans" make me laugh.

Brownell's emphasis on defensive style in a way that doesn't focus on one shooter

isn't that different from what Smith did, and certainly it has it's give and take.

The team's getting better and has some confidence with an easier schedule coming down the stretch.

Why not enjoy their wins???

^^^Uh - you left out the part about having a team loaded with blue-chippers, and a bench with more blue-chippers. And - that team didn't make their players take classes.
