KJ McDaniels and the 76er's

Oct 17, 2014, 12:06 PM

Despite not getting a guaranteed contract, it is becoming obvious that KJ is going to be in the rotation this season and get a chance to earn his payday in 2 more years.

I think it's actually a good thing that he went to a sorry team and will get the chance to play on a regular basis and get adjusted to the NBA life while the expectations of winning are low. If he is buried at the end of the bench on a contender, he never gets the opportunity to get better in a game situation. TRUE, the object of any athlete is to be a winner, but in KJ's spot, I believe 3 years of patience will get him into a place where he can get PT & paid.

Any thoughts??

I think KJ is making the best of a bad decision to go pro. Dude would have increased his draft position considerably with another season in college. I'll be pulling for him to show out, but the truth is he's on a team trying to lose games. That's a lousy place to be!

He did but the contract he signed wasn't guaranteed, he turned down a guaranteed contract so that he can get his market value next year

He did. The 76ers offered a four year deal, the first two guaranteed. KJ turned it down and opted to take a one year contract, which is a huge risk if he gets injured or doesn't perform to a high level.
