Let them drive down the court and see if they can make a routine jump shot to win the game.

The UCONN shot was was anything but routine. There was only 0.8 seconds left in that game and the ball was thrown from one end of the court to the other. The throw was perfect and Tate George just turned and shot toward the goal; luck did the rest. Elden Campbell should have tried to intercept the ball but he didn't want to risk a foul. In this one, the shooter was barely defended.

With VA Tech pulling all their bigs, it was likely they were gonna go for a 3 and the win.

The shooter was not tightly defended. It was a totally clean look.

Oh well Dawes and PJ had their chances at the FT line.

Good overall effort.

I don't think he was comparing the shot, just the feeling he had after it was made. I tend to agree with him. I do remember that UCONN shot as I was in the Middle East on a business trip and was watching the game in the wee hours of the morning. Ruined my business meetings that day...

The clock operator had a bit of a slow finger on the Tate George shot. And Cliff Ellis should have had Elden and Davis down under the basket to make whomever caught the ball shoot over them. Instead Elden was guarding the inbound pass and Sean Tyson was left to guard George. My 13 year old self still hasn't gotten over that crap. The utter stunned look on Elden Campbell's face with his hands on his head is forever burned in my memory.

I was at the Uconn game and not even close. A chance to go to the elite 8 with I believe the only Clemson team that ever could have played for a Natty vs the 10th seed in a down ACC. Please.
