Khaki shorts for an overweight 38 year old

I own a bunch of pair of 32", 36", and 38" Columbia khaki (various colored) shorts in 6" and 8" inseams. I think they're these, but I don't know for sure: https://www.columbia.com/p/mens-pfg-bonehead-ii-shorts---big-1708964.html?dwvar_1708964_color=160
The ones in the link are the "big" version... I assume they are cut different. I have the standard fit... but I really think I need to upgrade to the "big fit". I'm not losing weight anytime soon - it just ain't gonna happen. I'm not as fat as the model in those pics, btw. I'm 5'11" and about 220-230, but with wide shoulders and I'm much stronger than the average male.
Anyway, that's all sorta irrelevant. I'm looking for some new shorts and wondering what yall recommend. The 6" inseam was fine when I was about 190lbs, but it's a bit silly looking at my current size. What yall wearing?
https://www.drakewaterfowl.com/collections/dpf-shorts/products/kill-switch-performance-stretch-short?variant=31362044100675 - these look interresting.
I'd rather just wear gym shorts everywhere and be cumfortable... but some stretch-type or at least comfortable khaki shorts are what I need.
I still keep it 100 with my Bobby Weir jorts, but I'm looking to freshen up somewhat.
Patagoochi? AFTCO? Traditional carhart canvas duck (loljk)? What yall sportin?
Also, I have some thick thighs, so I like a wide leg option. If I can pee out of the pants leg, that's a plus too.

only ones I wear. Well, that and the Clemson khaki pants that someone shared here a couple years ago that were too baggy and I made into some nice cutoffs.
Bearbottom Shorts intrigue me. Also, Birddogs might be an option, feels like gym shorts, wears like nicer shorts. I do not have a pair though.

I seem to remember that guy from the mange and the thread about 10 years ago. He was “stronger than the average American Male “ and would fight anyone willing to meat up in Gaffney.

Are you selling your used shorts? Laundered, or unlaundered?
My favoritest shorts are Patagucci Sandy Cays--have 4 pairs of them, and they're damn near bulletproof. I got a couple pairs on the 50% sale prolly 6-7 years ago, and they're still good as new. Paid a little more for the second pair. Flinch a little at the $70 or $80 non-sale price, but they're absolutely worth that price tag.

Plus, you're married, with kids. Who gives AF how you look, get them knee caps tanned and rock on. These beaches are comfortable AF

I was a hater for a while… before I tried their stuff. Everything I’ve bought has been top notch. The shorts, polos, and the lightweight long sleeve hoodies are money. Super light, airy, fits me just right. Size up in their stuff.

except for the part about that 32" and 36" nonsense....and 220-230 was like 10 years ago
Imma tell ya, fat boi to fat boi....non-gym-shorts shorts have gone the way of lawnmowers and grills, for me.
buy cheap, throw away in 2 years.
I've been flexxing dat UDPness (say it out-loud for full effect) and getting Goodfellow brand shorts from Target.
they're not "Big" versions, but they get the job done, and you can grab'em for like $20

I have about 8 pair of them. The only thing I've found is that on about 2 pair the button came off and I need to sew them back on.
I may buy some more of their shorts and drawers this weekend.
