Kenneth Page, dismissed from the team, was at the reunion.

Mar 17, 2020, 10:57 PM

Sorry if this was already discussed, but I was reading this article:

https://www.tigernet.com/story/Five-star-OT-recaps-Junior-Day-visit-conversation-with-former-player-at-reunion-18652

And this part jumped out to me:
“It was kind of interesting there was a player named Kenneth Page who had been kicked off the team,” Rucci said. “It was unique to talk to someone who had been kicked off the team and then came back. He was saying that he realized that might have been the best thing that could have happened to him. It was a big gut check. He said maybe he hated Clemson for a while after he was kicked off the team, but as he grew up and matured he realized how important that was for him and his life has changed because of it.”

That is amazing. Amazing that Page was able to learn from that event. Amazing that Dabo NEVER gives up on his guys, even when he has to separate them from the team. Amazing that he is free to come back and talk to a five star recruit. Dabo isn’t hiding anything. This isn’t some carefully orchestrated show to impress a recruit. Go ahead and talk to a guy that was dismissed from the team.

What a different and special football program we have here.

Could be my favorite "Dabo" as the story of the letter...

was shared in a piece prior to the first NCG with Alabama.

_____
Swinney spoke passionately about the process of shepherding young men to adulthood.

“My driving force in this business is to create and build great men,” he said, “and to do that, you have to have great relationships.”

The most rewarding moments he has experienced as a coach, he said, have come when former players have thanked him for making a positive impact on their lives. If Clemson wins on Monday to become the first major college program to finish 15-0, Swinney said, it will not equal the sense of satisfaction he felt when he received a letter from Kenneth Page, an offensive lineman he kicked off the team in 2009 for violating team rules.

“It wasn’t a pleasant ending,” Swinney said, “but now he’s a youth pastor, and he’s out impacting the world, and he wanted me to know how that decision made him a better man and what he learned from that.”

Reinstated during the season and ban hammered right before the CFP. It’s like magic
