Cathcart left Greenwood to take over at Seneca.

Good coach.

Yes you are correct. I don't know how much notice Greenwood was given about Cathcart stepping down. Maybe they didn't have a chance to reach out to Liner. I don't know all of the details.

Index Journal Listed Candidates

Jan 22, 2014, 11:05 PM

Index Journal writer listed candidates on twitter earlier today.
Tony Temples (Greenwood's Current Defensive Coordinator)
Chris Liner(Former Assistant, Current 96 Head Coach)
Tim McMahon( Emerald High School Head Coach)
Steve Tanny-Hill (Lived in Greenwood for several years, Coached at Cambridge Academy in Greenwood, Current Union High Football coach.

Best Choices are Temples or Liner. Temples remind me of Dabo. A Motivational Coach. Very Christ like. Will not cuss at a kid. Always has something positive to say. Would be great for job. Liner just straight up knows how to win.

Let's go with Liner. I will have to take your word on Temple. I don't know the staff members.

Tanneyhill has been a successful coach. I just hate to think of having him as the head coach of GHS.

Pinky Babb and on the same list Steve Tanneyhill. Just doesn't fit.

Dabo has done a lot of good at CU, both on and off the field. But, ignorant comments like the one I responded to are just sickening. I hope that person doesn't think that "Dabo never cusses a player". That's just plain silly.

The TV cameras tell a different story. So do the students/trainers/band members who were invited to practice the day Dabo referred to Coach Napier and KP as "pu$$ies".

Not trying to bash Dabo. Again, he has done much good here. But, let's not pretend like he is the 2nd coming on Christ or anything.

Here's a crazy thought...... why don't you concern yourself with your drunk coach in Columbia? We're actually pretty good without your feathered opinion. Have a great day! :)

If Greenwood goes with Liner, I see a lot of early round playoff exits in Greenwood's future.

home game. I know its gotta suck for him to help produce shitstains like dj swearinger and other coots to come out of that school. He just wanted to move closer to gods country. This is a win for clemson and I know he's glad to get away from the horde of coot rednecks that reside in greenwood. I'm not saying all in greenwood are rednecks just the ones with garnet and black on.

I was in elementary school at Cambridge when Tanneyhill coached. Many people do not know that he was the reason Gaines Adams came back his senior year to Clemson. He will not however be the coach at Greenwood High. I played there under Shell Dula and Coach Liner will get the Job. He is a Christian man and i believe he played, or was on the team at Clemson. Coach Temple is a great man but Coach Liner is a motivator, and he pushes you to the limit and over. He cares about his players and doesn't put up with any nonsense. This is the kind of guy that you would want your son to play for.

Cathart coached here in Hanersham ga. Before going to Greenwood. He is a great High school coach. When he took over here the football team was a joke and he took them to the playoffs in his 2nd and 3rd year along with a region 4 A title. Seneca did good hiring Coach C
