Didn’t Ryan Day put the boosters on notice back during his spring club tour that they need to fund the NIL fueled roster to compete? I think that’s where this may have gone.

When we lose a recruit, it’s due to money/NIL offered by rich and powerful boosters working for the opposition - and perhaps nefarious coaches as well.
When we get a recruit, it’s due to the expert recruiting skills of our coaching staff.
Also, keep in mind that players who choose Clemson are high character guys, and those who choose another school are prima donnas with questionable morals.

Now we are losing players who never committed to begin with. Owens ended up recommitting, so hopefully McDonald un-decommits then commits. I'll be watching this situation closely.

Clemson but never committed is bad but soon we'll complain about losing players who never thought about committing but had an offer, then those who never thought about committing and never had an offer. Curse you NIL!

Actually, was not surprised he chose elsewhere. If you watch recruiting more than casually, you can see when players start drifting away from us. The interest starts to wane on both sides. I was surprised when it was OSU. They are pretty deep on defense also. I would be more shocked if we do not get Parker.
