Justyn Ross= Difference between Dabo and Kirby.

Jun 2, 2020, 9:47 AM

My prayers are with Justyn and he is truly a huge loss for us. His situation is very unfortunate but for Dabo and Clemson it is next man up. We have plyers and we have recruited well. Next man up and Dabo will push someone to step up. We will be fine. Travis and Amari coming back is huge for spreading the workload. Had this situation happen to one of UGAs top players, Kirby would be scouring the globe trying to pluck a star player from another team like a fifth year senior transfer or one who is alittle unhappy. There's a big difference between Dabo and Kirby and if you can't see that then you are blind. Go Tigers

Very good post. I think you hit the nail on the head, not just about "not so Smart", but about many coaches today. Dabo doesn't run players off, he develops them and plays them.

I give not a d@mm what any other coach would do. I have faith in Dabo, and believe he'll havs the situation well in hand, and that Clemson will be fine. More important, it looks like Ross will be OK. I'm just glad that this apparently hard to detect problem was found before something really horrible happened to him.

I agree 100%. Take a close look at coaches who fill up a team with transfers. You'll see players who signed with those teams out of high school and worked hard to earn playing time pushed out to make room. Dabo has said he will be loyal to those players and has proven it. It pays dividends as that loyalty goes both ways.

Not just that

God forbid Justyn's playing days are over but if so I bet Coach Swinney gets him into coaching where he can still make a decent living. Kirby's next man up means you're injured and mean nothing to me anymore.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

I'd be hesitant to think that Dabo would never consider taking a transfer player. I believe he has even said that he prefers not to do so, but that he wound consider it if we were ever in a high need at a particular position.

I think if he didn't feel good about our receiver depth, and if a receiver entered the portal that Dabo thought would be a good fit that he'd consider it. Now, that's certainly different from actively recruiting players who haven't already entered the portal, and I wouldn't picture Dabo doing that.

I can see Dabo looking at a transfer if we have a specific need. You won't see him building a team using an inordinate number of them like some of the other top teams are doing.

Plus Kirby Wears a Stupid Dewshey Visor Like Da Ol Ball Sack

Hard to think much of a man that wears a visor, unless they are a 1900's bank teller or card dealer.

I used to wear visors playing golf until my dome started getting sunburned and I had to switch to a hat for full coverage. You aren’t just jelly he still has enough hair to wear a visor are you?

You boys are so petty. Completely ridiculous. For example, look at the recent story of UGA QB Dwan Mathis. He had a Cyst in his Brain which required surgery. The severity of that is very similar to Ross' situation, if not more so. I mean it is brain surgery.

On top of that, look at this link to a UGA thread on Justyn's injury. The OVERWHELMING response from Dawg fans is prayers and best of luck to the young man - even on a (former) rival team.

Yes, we are all fans and we love our respective schools, but at the end of the day these are still college kids playing for free (at least as of yet) trying to do their best to make it big in a tough profession. Bash me if you want, but I wish nothing but the best for Justyn, and hope he makes a full recovery.

Please.

I absolutely agree with your article. We are not talking about the kids we're talkin about the difference in coaching. Truth is Dabo develops death and Kirby plugs from other teams. You may not agree and that's okay. Maybe just maybe that's why we're winning championships.

I applaud Georgia for standing by the young man but it did not stop Kirby from bringing into highly profile quarterbacks from other teams to feel this young man spot that he rightfully work for period. Point proven.

Nah, yeah, nah, I get you guys want to downplay what Kirby is doing at UGA, and that's fine. But the facts and timeline just don't fit this particular narrative. Mathis' cyst was discovered last May, and Newman transferred to UGA only after Fromm left early and well before Mathis was cleared to play. Newman has one season and Daniels probably has two, while Mathis will be a Redshirt Freshman. Exactly what "spot" did either of these guys take from Mathis? Besides, it's a head coach's job to improve the team. And you can ask Tyrique McGhee about how Kirby develops players. He was a low-ranked, 3-star recruit, who had a brain cyst similar to Mathis' when he was 6 years old. He just signed as an UFA with the LA Rams. He's not the only one. You can also ask unheralded guys like Soloman Kindley, Eric Stokes, Brian Herrien, Tyler Catalina, Devonte Wyatt, Jordan Davis, and on and on. Every scout in the NFL knows Kirby develops players. Even Bill Belichick is on the record praising Kirby. Discount him if you like, but don't be surprised when your Tigers open 2021 with a loss in Charlotte :)

Scared? LOL. We're going to beat you. We always beat you. That's simply an historical fact.
I don't come here very often, but every time I do there are multiple threads about UGA. If we were scared of Clemson, you'd see Dawg fans talking about y'all all over our message boards. But you never see that. You guys always say you don't want us here, but you obsess over us every day. And I'm talking every single day. If you want us to leave, stop talking about us. Problem is, you can't.
