Just watched this clip of the 1995 Carolina Panthers.

This one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7RleHeNFV0

Can't believe they painted their logos on the grass at DV (I was only three years old). Did our fanbase think it was good exposure or did people generally not like it?

I'm kind of a fair weather Panthers fan. I think it would be cool to see them play in the Valley though. Maybe as a way to thank their fans from South Carolina. Thoughts?

all the locals were just happy to have an NFL team

It was great for Clemson to have them playing there. Just gave us more attention.

One endzone was Panthers, one was Clemson

I haven't talked to many..if any..people who didn't like that or the Carolina Panthers playing there.

My first time in DV

Was for a panthers game in 1995. My grandfather took me. Having panthers play in DV was great exposure for Clemson. I'm sure we picked up some Tiger fans who loved the area.

"Death Valley really lives up to its image. I was impressed with this stadium. When you put 80,000 people in there, it really feels like they are on top of you. I would hate to be Georgia Tech or whoever else comes in here."
San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Steve Young

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

It was great having the Panthers there

Clemson enjoyed tremendous national exposure, and it was really cool having Clemson in one end zone and Panthers in the other. It also gave me the opportunity to attend my first 2 professional football games. And perhaps best yet, every time we were on TV, mentioned in the papers, etc it was like a sharp stick in the eye to SCar, who had rebuffed the Panthers' request to have their first season in Williams-Brice. It made SCar smolder every time the subject came up. It was awesome.

Wow! Looks like I missed out.***

I went to Clemson the next year. I hated missing that

season, and I wish they would have stayed - although I realize how unrealistic that is.
