I regret it. They owe me 2 hours of sleep. At least the Gold Cup final was entertaining. Even if the US was playing on their back foot. This is just painful.

to win the game and enough to not lose it in regulation. As for the women, to me they play like they know they are going to win. The rest of the world has caught up for sure. I think the team was better when Ertz was a center fullback instead of midfield. The offense for sure needs work as well.

to win gold for the fifth time in seven women's Olympic soccer tournaments, and are now in serious jeopardy of not winning a medal at all, this is another humiliating loss and further supports that this team should be spending more time focusing on actually preparing for and playing the games rather than on politics, filing law suits against the US Soccer Federation, and how under paid they are.
Just sayin'.

to stomach a team winning that is simply there to get attention for themselves when the anthem plays. I'm pretty sure they don't even remember what they hate about it anymore... they are just so brave.

To the commenter above, the world has caught up to Team USA. It's true. They are playing with over confidence and the feeling that goes with being the dominant dog for years. Sometimes you need a rude awakening to shake the trees a bit and change the approach. Maybe this is it for them.
But this performance has literally nothing to do with their outside activities. As much as Clemson losing to OSU in the semis because TL16 advocated for BLM

With a couple of notable exceptions, this was a subpar version of the USWNT particularly considering that many of the best teams weren't even there competing. The team looked sloppy and unprepared throughout the tournament.

I am not disagreeing the team played poorly and sloppy.
But what I am saying is that this is due to overconfidence of the team and coaches. This is not because they are advocating for better pay or BLM or whatever.
