NC State not only made the dance but are 11th seed

How can a team be 11th seed and a team that beat them 3 times, ranked higher in the conference and has a similar record not get into the tournament. If NCSt was in the first group or a 16 seed then I could see that but not as an 11th seed. That is a huge F.U. by the committee.
With Brad's best team ever and cant dance this should be a another indicator that Neff needs to make a change. If Clemson was a regular contender at the Tournament then we would have made it but since Clemson isn't expected to make it we don't get that privilege of acceptance and overlooking the bad losses.
Bottomline, if we didn't recently lose to a horrible Louisville and we actually looked like we could play against a good team like UVA, then we would have made it. But Virginia made us (Brad) look like JV team playing in a bad conference.
I was vocal about the bad losses earlier in the season as most fans should have been. These losses not only embarrassed us but held us from making the tournament once again. This team deserves better as they are a good team but coaching hurt their extended play.

it's not uncommon for a team that barely made the tournament to be an 11 seed. Everyone knows that a lot of the teams that make the tournament on merit are better than the automatic qualifiers.

Our bad losses were Layola Chicago, South Carolina, BC and Louisville.
NCST didn't lose any OOC cupcake games.
Their bad losses would be North Carolina, Clemson x3 and Syracuse. According to the committee UNC and Clemson just missed the tournament and Syracuse though bad, had a winning record.

They finished lower than us in every major metric and got it. We kept hearing our NET would do us in, but we beat them and had a better NET and they still got in over us. Makes zero sense.

Pitt is in a bigger TV market than Clemson. Pitt's coach is more interesting than Brad Brownell. And lastly, until the last weekend of the regular season, they were at the top of ACC standings.
Plus beating a team a single time doesn't really speak for the differences between the teams. Beating a team 3 times by an average of over 21 points speaks volumes for the differences between the teams. If the committee wants the best teams in the tournament then Clemson would have been in over NCST. I am afraid that things beyond "best" teams came into play (history, storylines, viewership). Of course we didn't help ourselves by losing to Louisville.

Pretty sure seeds are based on your expected finish in a tournament. When I wrestled I was seeded #2 or 3 based on wins or losses. Oh yeah, when I played football, we usually got seeded based on our wins and losses in our region. Well, seems like same thing happened when I played baseball.
Can you please tell me what I am missing about seeding? We beat a team 3x and yet we cant get seeded from 11-16 which is a about 20-24 teams.
I obviously don't know so please give me an educated explanation.

At large teams do not get seeded 16. Ever.
The lowest at large seed this year is 11.

So nobody gets seeded lower than 11th? Where do the teams 12-16 come from? Not trying to be a tool, just obviously don't understand how do you make 4 branches of a bracket beyond seeding the 11 teams if they never seed a team beyond 11. Happy to be educated, seriously. I must not know how seeding works for the tournament.

I'm not sure of the exact process and I actually thought at large teams could be as low as a 12 seed myself. I do know that seeds 13-16 are typically made up of teams from smaller conferences who who their tournaments. That's why you always see teams like Howard as 15 and 16 seeds and never see a team from a major conference in one of those spots.
That's why the field isn't really "the best 68 teams" because it includes a lot of automatic qualifiers that even the committee would probably admit includes teams that aren't as good as several teams who don't make it.
It would be as if the CFP included the 4 top teams as voted by the committee but then they also included the highest ranked non-P5 team and let that team play the #4 ranked team in a play-in game to earn the #4 spot. That non-P5 team could very well have been ranked #20 or something and wouldn't be thought of as the 5th best team necessarily, but rather the process would be made to give those teams a fair chance.

Those are automatic qualifiers from lower-level leagues. At-large selections are seeded well above those teams.

Because they didn't have any bad losses.
Everybody knows that bad losses is a great metric to look at to see how you are going to perform against quad 1 teams. Quad 1 wins throughout the season are way down the list. Useless.
