Just saw a bunch of gamecock fans on facebook calling

Oct 5, 2012, 12:52 PM

Clemson fans "taters" Ive heard them call us that before, but its just hilarious to me. Seeing grown adults calling other people a food in order to "offend" them is just funny to me. It reminds me of a 2 year old that cant talk right yet and calls something by however they can say it

As most people probably know, the coots like to ridicule Clemson for being "country" , "redneck", and in the middle of nowhere. Just cow fields as far as the eye can see.

The kicker is, most of the ones making fun of it in that way have never been anywhere near Clemson.

I had a friend on FB post a status asking how Clemson gets all these recruits when our school is in the middle of nowhere.... And he later admitted in the comments after getting slammed that he had never been there.

Ignorance

I'm wondering if you've ever been to Clemson. It wasn't until about 15 years ago that there was much of anything on Hwy 123 except the old Hess station on the corner. The only bars in town were the ESSO and the Study Hall. The rest of the area except for the campus was indeed nothing but farms and pastures. It truly was, and to an extent still is "in the middle of nowhere". Of course, that's it's best feature IMO. It still maintains a very rural feel. Sure do miss the Study Hall though. Anybody know why it closed?

if you think 15 years is the time frame

Oct 5, 2012, 3:30 PM

you've never been there either

Um, incorrect.

Still has a rural feel today, yeah, but you obviously weren't here 15 years ago.

I'm about tired of all those Gameschmuck mouth pieces on Facebook. I'm ready for us and UGA, LSU, and UF to shut them up.
I do get the tater thing. They are making fun of Clemson being a Land Grant University and how rural it is. I think its pretty good, but not as good as coots. Now that is funny. They are so delusional that they are crazy as a coot.

your account needs a Decooting

as soon as I see a pro coot post...zap!

and if you are worried about hurting a life long friends feelings...I have no coot friends so I just zapped

you can hide their posts so you do not have to see them

Oct 6, 2012, 12:38 AM

"Taters." The joke is on them. Isn't that right, fellow taters? When some of our batters come to the plate, we often say, "It's Tater Time" - meaning hit it out. The dumb clucks just get dumber.
