Just realized we were just 23 measly points combined

from being undefeated. In those close losses.. we had so many missed opportunities (dropped TD passes, overthrowing wide open wide WR, fumbles, etc..). This was a extremely young Clemson team and hopefully next year we will make the plays again needed to win (like we have the last decade). Still could win 10 games this year and most programs would think that’s was the Pinnacle ??

Thank you and despite some poor thinking the sky did not fall this year. We did the best we could with what we had to work with and most certainly many of the mistakes were due to inexperience.

Yep, good post. We made some coaching blunders too. It shouldn't have taken as long as it did to change our personnel grouping a la the last 4 games. Still not sure we'd have beaten uga but no doubt we'd have won the State game... And the Pitt game would have been closer. Good learning experience by all.

The other mistake is not having a center ready to replace Cade. Perhaps a portal grad.

That's one way to look at it and I'm sure that's how Dabo and staff are presenting things. On the other hand we also won quite a few games by close scores this year. I think usually these sort of things tend to balance themselves out and your record tends to reflect who you are most years. I think we were a top 5 team on defense this year and somewhere outside of the top 25 on offense. To have that balance out to 9-3 and a top 20 ranking seems to reflect us pretty accurately IMO. We all know we had/have potential to be much better. All these close games could pay off for us next year as our players will have been tested several times at this point.

from being 5-7. We did finish the year strong, but our first 8 FBS games were all decided by 10 pts or less and we went 5-3 in those 8 games. It could've been worse.
