Tigers Going to New Orleans....Fun Place to Visit

Jan 8, 2020, 11:03 AM

Cross the big lake P and go visit the Abita brewery. Great brews, great tap room and apparel etc. If you are a craft brew fan it's worth the 45 minute trip.

If you're a history buff...

I also recommend the National World War II Museum.

Tickets range from $18 and $28. Go on-line and buy them in advance.

Well worth the time.

Less than a 20 minute walk to Bourbon Street.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Ww2 museum is the only thing that interests me in NO

Do they have parking?

I doubt my crew will want to go so it may just be me

to be honest, if you're downtown, there are quite a few breweries without having to drive to Abita. NOLA Brewing is top notch.

Just My 2 cents

NOLA is full of breweries that are better than Abita. Urban South, Port Orleans, Second Line, NOLA Brewery. The list goes on and on.

Each of those is within a few miles of major hotels. Abita Springs is nearly an hour away.

If you want to go a ways for good beer, go to Gnarley Barley in Hammond. The Jucifer is wildly popular.

Dang, sounds like the whole state is one big network of beer

micro-breweries. After Monday night, they better switch gears real quick, because New Orleans will quickly become the Whine capital of the world!

Just hop on the street car and ride down past Tulane, then

... then take the River excursion boat back.

Cheap and fun ... if the weather is nice.
