Interesting Stat... Passing Yards Allowed

Jan 3, 2020, 2:05 PM

Clemson ranks 1st allowing 2,121 yards for 9 TDs for an average of 5.52 Yd/Att and 151.5 Yd/game
LSU ranks 56th allowing 3,107 yards for 20 TDs for an average of 6.42 Yd/Att and 221.9 Yd/game

They haven't seen a defense anywhere near Clemson's pass defense.

Clemson wins by 2 scores.

Once again meaningless stats are quoted.

SAMPLE is quite important -- how strong was the opposition that got those stats?

In a game like this stats don't matter

Jan 3, 2020, 2:16 PM

Match-ups, coaching, and motivation matter. I'd argue that Clemson has the edge in all of those.

About as strong as all those SEC teams you guys scored all over. Stats don't mean ####. Spot the ball and let's get it on enough of this #### talking already!

Whitehurst, baby - you've got to pace yourself. A little over one week to go - we can do this.

Are you kidding...

LSWho played against a bunch of teams with average (as best) QB's.

The only reason you think it's a meaningless stat is because it doesn't fit your deluded agenda.

Clemson will be the absolute best team LSWho has played all season and it really isn't even close. You corn dog cologne wearing coon@$$es can't say the same.

Well..you can but it would just make you sound like you're even more full of $#!7 than usual.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

In terms of passing efficiency, both Tiger teams played 5 of the top 47 in the nation.

Just like BAMA last year

You’ll find out that Clemson is better than anyone you’ve played.

The opposition that got those stats!?!?

Well, Vanderbilt finished the season 3-9, barely scored points in most of their games topping 24 points only once and that was when they scored 38 against LSU... 38!!! LMFAO!!!

Excluding that LSU game, Vanderbilt averaged 9.9 points per game!

Stats are just that. They aren't meaningless. They weren't against the weak sec defenses.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Speaking of "meaningless"

I'm certain you're a lot better at psybjing than trolling.

Utah State, NW State, Vandy, MS State, Ole Miss, Georgia Southern Qb’s are quite the competition. Florida, Georgia, Auburn qbs are mediocre at best. Outside of an injured Tua, LSU hasn’t seen a qb on the same planet as the one they will see Jan 13th. The “competition” argument is so ridiculous.

Just take a look at the NCAA stats on Football Outsiders which are adjusted for opponent. We are the number one defense in the country after adjustment.

Re: Once again

Jan 3, 2020, 6:14 PM [ in reply to Once again ]

OK BJ

These stats are from adjusted.com which adjusts stats based on the competition - ready ?

Adjusted yards per game: Clemson 129 - #1 LSU 213 - #40

Adjusted yards per attempt: Clemson 4.9 - #1 LSU 6.1 - #17

Adjusted yards per game Clemson 111 - #1 LSU 189 - #35
(with sack yardage subtracted)

Adjusted yards per attempt Clemson 3.74 - #2 LSU 4.95 - #14
(with sack yardage subtracted)

Adjusted Passing defensive efficiency Clemson 85.32 LSU 101.83 - #5

So it seems that even after taking the competition into account our defense is still significantly better than yours so perhaps you should prepare yourself mentally to face a better opponent than you have faced all year. As for us, we will prepare like we did for OSU, or for Bama last year and see if y'all can come close to matching their performance on the field.

Relax, guys...and save your supporting evidence

Ol' psy will get lost with you using multi-syllabic words and sticking with words that fall outside the phonetics range. You'd be better off with colors and numbers...and an occasional stick figure.
