Just got back from the Ellington football camp

Jul 11, 2014, 2:51 PM

in Moncks Corner.

What a great event Andre and Bruce put on!! It was completely free for the kids, and they got t-shirts and lunch.

There were numerous NFL and past college players out there helping out, including Tajh. They were really great with the kids.

We should all count our blessings being Clemson fans, alumni, etc. We have some fine young men that come out of Clemson University.

I had the opportunity to talk to Tajh for a few minutes and I can tell you that he is an even nicer and more genuine person than he is made out to be. I told him we'd miss him and he told me how he teared up when the clock hit zeros in Death Valley against The Citadel last season (his last game at home). He is a great representative for Clemson. Andre was just as nice and spent tons of time with all the kids at the camp.

And I hate to say it, but Bruce was great too.

The kids had a blast! I hope they do it again next year.

don't do a free camp. The millionaire players charge the working class folks $100+ for a one day, would it be too much to ask to give one day of their time to the kids?

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?
• Put up goal posts
What does a Gamecock grad call a Clemson Tiger grad in 2 years?
• Boss

Having moved back to the area from the upstate after retiring (10 mi outside Moncks Corner), I have really grown fond of this small rural town. The people are very friendly and courteous, and I can see that the Ellingtons are a great example of that.

Great story! The Ellingtons and Tajh are all great representatives of our institutions and class acts. It's great when these guys do things for local kids.
