Tigers are everywhere......

Jul 9, 2013, 7:13 AM

I was at a contractor in Ft. Myers, FL on Monday morning and was chit chating with the owner and the conversation got to football. Owner stated he was a 1990 CU grad and season ticket holder (even though it is hard to make all the games).

Then he says meet my older brother Brian Clark. Starting OG #70 on Clemson's '81 NC team. Ultra cool. The dude is a huge guy; 6'7" 3 bills. A good way to start the week!

When I lived in Hawaii from 1984 to 1988. I wore my Clemson T's everyday, and I would see and talk to people down at Waikiki beach all the time wearing Clemson T's. People from all over the world know that Clemson is a great place to get a Great Education. And that is just simply put!!!

I may have been responsible for a few of those... I spent a little over a week in the Keys a couple years ago, and plan on going back next year. While I was enjoying a few adult beverages at the hotel bar wearing my favorite old clemson hat, the bar tender asked me if I was from the upstate. I told him that I was from Greenville. He went on about how he spent a year or so here in the 80's and fell in love with the area, and the tigers, and still follows them today. Took really good care of us the whole trip and we took care of him in the end. We are represented everywhere.

I rented a house near Jay Peak in Northern Vermont and the owner played on the '74 team.

I've randomly run into alumni in Miami and Albuquerque. (Southern California too, but I was there specifically to see said alumni so I don't think that counts.)

flyingtigerfan has (or had, if his old age has betrayed him ;)) a good story about meeting an alumni in an airport in Germany about 20 years ago.

I had a connection in Tokyo a few years ago, and an Asian guy boarding the plane saw my t-shirt and said "GO TIGERS" (it was awesome with his native accent). That was pretty cool.

GO TIGERS!!!!!
