I believe every word he said. This is what its come down to. And its not nil, its pay for play. I think very few would be making these crazy amounts if they were strictly name, image, likeness. Instead, everybody has these collectives to funnel money to the players. If they cant make it at Rutgers, they can make it somewhere else. Its a sad state of affairs.

Any school in a major conference that wants to win in football must play the NIL game or go home. Schiano knows that and is probably the only guy that has a chance to ever get Rutgers in a bowl game.

Jordan Addison leaving Pitt for USC was a lightening bolt that confirmed the worst fears of what NIL + instant transfers would mean for CFB.

For that matter, (the real) USC's 2022 football roster confirmed everyone's worst fears. More than half of their 22 starters are expected to be transfers!

and both the ACC and B1G pretty much crapped out going after the college market there during their last rounds of expansion. B1G probably in a little better shape considering such huge schools and more alumni from their programs working in the area, but that's it.

Rutgers has no business being in an upper division in football.
