how important free throws are. Despite how obviously poor and one-sided the officiating was, they STILL would've won had they made more of their FT's.

Thinking back, some 40 years, Free Throw shooting has cost us more games than anything else. Had we just made 90% of our attempts, we would have a record that would rival anybody.

The NCAA average is around like 72%. The NCAA leader this year shoots 80% as a team. The best mark for any team over the last 40 years is 82%

I can't remember how many times I have witnessed losses where just a few made free throws could have won a (poorly officiated) game.

My point exactly, and I'd even say the same things about the not so well officiated games of which we have participated in many.
