At least we made the ACC tournament record book, largest upset. How is it we can end up on the wrong side of records regardless of the sport.
Football 70 points in a BCS game
Baseball countless trips to CWS no title, second only to FSU. A few w years ago Vandy set a record against us with runs scored in a tournament game
Now BB gets to hang their hat in the record books too.
Gotta constantly remind yourself it’s still the greatest university around.

This is a game Clemson should have won. However, am I surprised at the loss? No. This is disappointing, but you just don't know what to expect from Clemson basketball. We just might win a couple in Indy? Hope so.

No way to sugar coat this game. Strength of the team is defense and they ended up well above their average at 53% shooting.
Got the two hot players on the court in Simms/Tyson and you don't let them touch it on the last shot. Have to let Simms shoot or try to draw a foul. Poor job coach.

A Brad Brownell team can not play quality Basketball after more than a 3 day layoff. The last quarter of the first half, through the rest of the game, that was some truly sloppy played basketball!!!!
IMO, we need a HC that can, and will make in game changes when our opponents are making changes with how they are playing against us. For whatever the reason, our HC won't make those changes!!!

Agree AO52. I don't follow basketball close enough to say whether this 5 man or 3 man etc etc is/should be in. But I do watch or listen to every Clemson game and like clockwork we're going to have long dry spells and then he waits until we've given up a 10-12 point run by the other team b4 calling a timeout. No feel for the game. Frustrating to say the least.
But I know enough as posted above, you call a timeout for a win or lose shot you got to give to your ace. Honor drove the lane and no tiger in site to crash the boards. Tyson was wide open in the corner and had a hot hand. Flip it to him and have everyone else crash down... Who knows.

Don’t know over all record but announcer stated the Clemson is the only original member of the ACC to have never won the tournament. Only been in the championship game twice ..... in 68 years.

Clemson is never going to let a coach go the season after it goes to an NCAAT. Think we got as much as this team as we could. This team needs more scorers. Simms was only double figure we had this year. It's amazing they did this well with so few scorers.

Nctigs, I agree with you that a coach won't get the ax after making the tourney. However, disagree that we got all we could from the team.
Jmho, we have enough scorers, but it seemed when one of the guys not named Simms had the hot hand, and had a rhythm going they'd get benched.
As coach said himself, 3 times we played Miami and the 2 guys torched us. Really? 3 games and we couldn't figure something out? Sorry, that's coaching. If you don't have the atheletes, that's one thing, but one thing we do have is atheletes... Cbb needs to figure it out.

scorers from? The ones already prolific mostly go elsewhere.We haven't learned how to purchase players and not get caught like some schools we do..or how to graduate a fellow who scored 200 on the SAT. We have to coach our guys up which seems to take about 4 or 5 years. Our talented guys (for us) seem to fizzle in the NBA. Outside of Larry Nance and Horace Grant-who has done really well?

Couple of random thoughts. In the last 2 games Wong has torched us for 28 and 20. I wonder how many other teams play zone instead of man against The Canes? Hunter Tyson was 5-8 with 4-4 on 3's but only played 28 minutes and took only 8 shots. Why? I guess the mindset was spread minutes out and be fresh for tomorrow. We should be rested for next week because they can sleep on the bus tomorrow.

All I want for Christmas, my birthday, and our anniversary is a decent basketball coach at Clemson. After 60+ years we deserver a real coach. How many more embarrassing years do we have to endure before BB gets his pink slip? I'll send a pack of pink paper if that would help.

Obviously not a great game for Clemson. What frustrates me most is when something is working for the opposition, Their guard play, we don't make the necessary adjustments. And Heminway CAN'T play defense - too slow & not athletic. Just sit in the corner and shoot.

Clemsoning is over in football. Unfortunately, it still seems to be kicking in basketball. How many times have we clawed through the regular season just to go choke in the ACC tournament? Not trying to take away from this team's accomplishments as they have done a lot of exceptional things. The Chapel Hill streak is over. However, it seems to be a basketball curse-how's that for irrational?Doesn't matter the players or coach or whatever-we get to a point of having a really good team and then we get shot down where we shouldn't. Occasionally, it's understandable. This seems to be a Clemdemic. Baseball has the same issues although historically better than basketball but mostly the end seems to be similar. It's really a head scratcher. These guys work hard and play hard. I guess maybe it's about learning to be a winner, to get over the hump which we couldn't before. It's not for a lack of effort on anyone's part. Anyone know what the voodoo is?
