It's nice to see teams like UGA...

Iowa and Cincinnati in the top three this season. I know experts are attributing this to it being a down year for college football, but it's still fun to see some relative unknowns get a chance to enjoy a little limelight. And even after Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, and the other blue bloods turn it around, and eventually retake the top 3 positions, it's an exciting time that those three fan bases will never forget.
That what makes college football so special, IMHO.

Georgia kind of reminds me how Loyola went to the Final 4 in basketball. Remember how exciting that was for Loyola's's fans. I really thought that was neat and something I will always remember.

Wouldn’t know we were 18-43-4 against UGA given the smack some here throw around.

Or for those of us old enough to remember even in the 80s the peak of the Ford era he struggled mightily against Georgia.

was terrible during the 80s. For those that weren't old enough to remember....Vince Dooley (UGAs coach at the time) went 89-26-4 while Ford was at Clemson and won approx. 75% of his games....and we split against UGA during his time here.
Yes, Ford struggled to beat UGA every single time, but we are also a really good program the entire time Ford coached here.

Those games were usually defensive battles won by the team with the best kicker that year.

Meaningless...
Jawja owns a lot of those so-called records against teams with multiple national championships to their one and even a lot of schools that have one one or more since 1981.
The own the record against: Miami, OSU, Oklahoma, Miami, FSU, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Forida, Aubuirn, Tennessee, BYU, Colorado.
They are even behind on champioships like ole miss
Ironically, they are .500 vs other like UCF, Meechigan, Ped State.
How in the heck do they have a losing record to Wake Forest?
The only thing I can think is that they really blow the wad when they have the chance. Like in 1959 when they run the tables in the SEC and then lose to South Carolina (in the ACC) to give Syracuse their National Championship.

True. And others probably DO NOT KNOW that in the 1950’s-1980’s UGA had a huge competitive advantage by getting Athletes admitted into “School” that did not QUALIFY/nor could ever be admitted into Clemson.

everyone remembers how the UGA program was in shambles after Mark Richt dumped them for Miami, and nobody thought they'd field a decent football team anytime soon.
But, thanks to the greatest RB in UGA history in Zamir White (who they only got because we already had Lyn-J Dixon committed), and thanks to us giving them Derion Kendrick to shore up their leaky defense, they get to call themselves #1 for a few weeks.
What a great story

I think it is going to be nice that Jawja is going to let another team earn their first natty or let an down-and-out power reclaim some lost glory.
That seems to be the trend. When Jawja is "good" some no-name team like Clemson or FSU or Cuse win it alll or a team like Texas, OSU (both whom had not won anything since 1970) or even rivals like LSU win their first since the 50.
Maybe this is the year that Meechigan wins is all!
