Spain just admitted to a terror attack

Jan 14, 2022, 10:31 PM

That killed 16 of its own people?

To keep their people in check?
Is this real?

I wouldn't say the "fired for corruption" police chief's word is gospel

Jan 14, 2022, 10:38 PM

But it's been long rumored that they knew about the plan and did nothing. There are plenty of articles about the CIA and other intelligence agencies warning them ahead of time, they also went out of their way to not really investigate it afterwards.

Just another "conspiracy theory"... Governments don't do

false flag operations.

The biggest hurdle with the false flag angle

Jan 15, 2022, 12:11 PM

Is now you're saying like 10 other countries sat back and did nothing making it a global conspiracy.

Random guy tweeting hearsay? Sounds legit. Following.***

Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.
- Jonathan Swift

Well, he not random. He's a former police chief...who was fired for grift.

Seems like a credible source.

LOL, well there's that.

But "random guy" = Josep Lluís Alay, the tweeter.

It's easy to cite actual sources for stuff like this, but a large segment of our citizens trust Twitter and doubt journalists.

I also liked this three-levelled truth-morph-but-with-plausible-deniability thing xtiger did, by like, reflex. It was like breathing to him.

So xtiger did add a question mark to the subject line...which he left by itself in the subject title, which was "Spain just admitted to a terror attack", with no question mark. But in his defense, he did then add, albeit in the body of the text:

"That killed 16 of its own people?

To keep their people in check?
Is this real?"

So xtiger can justifiably say "he was just asking questions." (This is such a Tucker trick. Lead with the flame, then turn the accusation grenade you just lobbed into the room into an "innocent question".)

But, let's look at the distortion here. Because not only is x turning this unsubstantiated accusation into an admission - it isn't! - he's also misattributing it to Spain itself and not some rando, disgraced former police chief who was fired for corruption and probably has every financial incentive in the world to self-promote and profit off conspiracy theories. Especially since the Catalans are as vhemently anti-Spanish-government as the MAGA's are anti US-government.

And this is a textbook example of how internet misinformation gets started and passed around. How many people have been convinced by this one thread that Spain admitted they bombed the Catalans to keep them in line?

Wonder where x learned to do that? Gosh, it's almost like he's seen this a million times before.

Or could have been any number of over-paid democrats who have experience in this sort of thing.
